  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Winter wheel & tire packages?

I may be interested in the wheels. I'll stay in touch because I haven't even gotten my car yet
Me too....LOL. My brother would pick them up and keep them until I can get up there to get them.

Hi All,

Just bought a G70 3.3T Sport Dynamic Edition. Comes pre setup with Staggered setup + Summer Michelin Pilot 4S Tires

225/40R19 (F)
255/35R19 (R)

Front Wheels 19 x 8
Back Wheels 19 x 8.5

Wondering if I should run a square or staggered setup during the winter and what size of tire should I get? Looking at buying Sottozero 3's. Live in New England, winter gets pretty intense.

I believe the recommended setup from Genesis is 225 square. With the brembo brakes you can go down to an 18 inch tire size. I have attached the Genesis winter tire pamphlet, I believe it is for Canada but you can see what they recommend.

Pretty much what I have, in Toronto - so similar winters to yours. I went with a non staggered 225/45 at 18”, with the Sottozero 3s, and am quite happy with them. I don't think you'd want the staggered in the winter ...

all Genesis winter tire packages come with 225/45/18 for cars that come with 19" factory wheels.

finally peeled off the winter setup, bring on summer!

it's amazing how much stickier the summers are. i can hear little pebbles and grit getting kicked up which was not happening with the winters.

We have had mid teens for temps the last week and the roads are clear, but being in AB I know it is too early for summers... I can't wait though. Maybe in a few more weeks. But I am sure we will get another dump of snow...

I'll be putting on the Michelin's tomorrow morning. I really should have did it last weekend but I got busy. Hate driving the winter tires in 25 degree heat.

Anyone know what temperature should be ok to install the Michelin Pilots (summer kit). Here in Toronto still cold with 3 degrees like today but no snow anymore. Next few days will raise to 11 but mostly during nights will drop to 3 or 5 degrees.

I am in TO too and I am waiting till after Easter when temp more stable and little chance of standing snow.

I got mine done last Friday.

18 inch package I got from the dealer. Looks great and I almost prefer the look of these wheels to the 19's.

BTW, snapped this photo today in Banff National Park. View attachment 17859

I have these same rims, I just might have to put them on this weekend though since it's supposed to snow.

So I ended up installing my winter wheel/tire package today, and I'm thankful that I did. We are in the middle of a spring blizzard here in Calgary, and the driving conditions were pretty awful. My Pirelli Sotozero 3 tires along with the AWD of the G70 performed admirably in some of the worst driving conditions imaginable. The installation took longer than it should have since I didn't clue in that the winter tires were directional until I was installing the last tire.

Oh dang! Nice work. Looks like expecting the worst was the way to go.

I got mine swapped out for my summers on March 29th and then we had a few crappy days since. Luckily my wife's vehicle still had winters one so I took it to work instead!

I am up in Edmonton and didn't drive the car because of the snow although nothing really stayed on the roads up here so it wasn't that bad. Southern AB got it worse.

Yeah I've got my summers on and drove to work this morning in the snow...made it in one piece. Hopefully the snow doesn't stick around during the day or the drive home will be interesting
