  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello All, I have an early 2009 Genesis 3.8 and as you all know has a jittery suspension. I'm looking to upgrade the sway bar to the 2012's hollow bar which I'm assuming will have to be purchased through the dealer for about $125.

I'm also looking to upgrade to a newer 2011/2012 suspension that someone may not need anymore since they upgraded to a coilover system.

Please send me a PM or email to let me know what you have. Please include approximate mileage and condition. I would prefer someone local to NJ but not necessary. Also, how much you are asking for the four corners.

Thanks,
NJT

jalanjalan: I saw your posting. I'm curious if the R-spec suspension would overall be an improvement over the early 2009 suspension. I'm concerned the jittery-tightness would still be as uncomfortable.
Under the "suspension" section I asked that exact question if someone else has done this comparison.

The topic switched to the rear sway bar and I never really got an answer.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Can't say. Can guess : higher spring rate and stiffer dampening on rspec items seems likely :)

All, I'm bumping this request because I'm still in the market to anyone with a 2012/2013 Genny that upgraded their suspension with an aftermarket and want to sell me the old system.
I have a early 2009 and it is starting to get to me. I don't have the money to get a new system.
Thanks.

If you happen to get a bite I'll buy your 09 suspension I just need it for R&D

All. I'm still in the market to purchase someones 2012-2013 suspension if they switched to another system. Looking to upgrade from my 2009 which is really starting to annoy me. Thanks.

When I upgraded my 2009 to 2010/2011 specs, I purchased 4 springs, 4 shocks/struts, and rear stabilizer for about $1000 here:
www.newhyundaiparts.com
I got an independent suspension shop to install them for about $600.

If you can't afford that, I would go ahead with just the 2012 rear stabilizer first, as it might make enough of a difference to make it tolerable. Obviously, tires that rate high in "comfort" are a must also.

Mark: thanks. I recently switched to purecontact tires and that has helped some. I can't afford to pay $1000+ at this time. I'm hoping someone has changed out their suspension, with low mileage, and would want to sell it to me.

Still looking: If anyone has switched out their 2012-2014 Genesis suspension for an aftermarket coilover system (Megan, BC, HSD) and want to sell me their OEM setup, please send me a PM.

Please include the year, mileage, V6 or r-spec, where you live and how much you are asking.

Thanks in advance! Tom
