  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

XM free subscription- I thought it was for a year

So, I tried this online for my 3.8/Tech but XM doesn't have my radio ID on record, which must mean the dealer didn't register me. (Purchased 5 days ago.) What if I do nothing? Unending XM service because the car appears unsold? Or automatic loss of service after some undetermined time?
You only get one year for free with Tech Package, so I don't why you think service will be un-ending. I would try again in a couple of weeks.

Re "Unending service": I was speculating that the dealer's "deal" with XM is good until the vehicle is sold, i.e. that XM stays active regardless of how long the car sits on the lot. If the dealer never registers me with XM, then the vehicle may look to XM as perpetually unsold. So, while I don't think my subscription should be unending, I can see where the dealer's omission might lead to that.

I will contact the dealer to see that things are set right.
