  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

XM Lifetime Subscription.....................

I am now going on 2 years WITH traffic for my free three month subscription

So am I. I kept expecting it to quit.

I registered when I bought the car and then, apparently, the dealer registered it also. I wonder if it will expire right at two years. It is growing on me and I'll probably renew after I work them for the best deal I can get.

A bud of mine had the lifetime deal on his Beemer....had an offer he couldn't refuse and sold the car. He didn't cancel the sat-account...couldn't transfer it so he left it up and running. The new owner gets free sat-music (sweet selling point??) and he maintains the account...being able to purchase service for his new car now as "a second radio" on his master account. You my friend my just be in the drivers seat with free tunes!!

oOo.. I hope you're right! I'll just keep my mouth shut! O:-)

Really...if the previous owner DIDN'T cancel it you are in luck. But why would he? It's already paid for for crying out loud. He gets no money back?!! And if I can get a few hundred $$$ more for the car due to free sat-radio...what the hey!?!? Downside, if you have problems with it...then you go back to square one?

I tried to log on to the XM website. Seems that neither my radio ID nor my VIN are in their system. Yet my radio plays merrily along.

The website indicates that I should call them. No way will I call them unless the radio quits playing. (Their) Ignorance is my bliss!

I called to cancel my subscription for my 2007 G35X as I don’t use it as much now that the Genesis is with us. During the session she asks me why I was canceling and I told her I don’t use the car much and I have a new car with XM trial on it. She immediately checked to see if there was another account with my name on it. Upon not finding one she proceeded to ask a lot of questions and said there has to be one. What kind of car is it. I simply said…. :D it came that way ”cancel my subscription” and hung up. Apparently these trials are falling through the cracks at the dealer. I say that because when I first road tested my car the salesman said “try the XM it works great”. I remember thinking that’s unusual because with my G I had to call and enable the service. So I’ll just keep going and am definitely not calling XM about the Genesis. Let’s see how long it takes the dealer to catch it.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I've gotten a couple of notices from XM saying when my trial's over. The VIN and other data are correct, so it looks like I'm in their system. I'd let the trial expire and see what happens, but I'm concerned about the reports of problems with the DIS when XM disappears.

I just signed up for the XM Lifetime Subscription. This was for my 2011 Genesis. This is not advertised on their website at all. You have to call and ask them about it.

It is about $576 for the Lifetime of your Genesis. This is transferable to the next owner as well. This does not include Nav Traffic.

This is an OK deal if you listen to XM and plan on keeping your car 8 years as I do. You save hundreds of dollars instead of paying monthly

I don't know where you folks are getting these prices; I called today, June 11,2011, and was given their best deal for $967.23 out the door! This includes reactivation, service, city and state taxes. I told the agent that I had seen prices on this forum for lifetime subscriptions in the $400 - $600 range. She went to the supervisor but they would not budge on the Lifetime Price. I wound up with the One Year for $77 + taxes for $97.46 out the door. I guess that I wasn.t holding my mouth correctly?

They have raised their prices. I think the XM/Sirius Merger helped this along. They have no competition now. I got my XM lifetime in October, 2010.
