  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello all, just coming out of a Maxima into a 2011 Genesis 4.6 and my Nav Traffic is active. My question is how do i use it? In the Maxima i could check traffic around me, set the preferences for my routes; avoid highways/toll roads etc. Am I missing something in the vehicle nav? Is the Genesis nav as is? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Some of these functions (e.g., avoiding specified areas) are available independently of the XM traffic service. The DIS manual covers it all. You'll find that the value of XM traffic depends heavily on where you live/drive. In my area, the information display was not particularly helpful, and was sometimes flat-out wrong. But I've read than there are some metropolitan areas where it's quite useful.

XM Nav Traffic is a very passive non-interactive system. It does not allow much in the way of avoiding the traffic issues. Im pretty sure Hyundai could do better.

Isn't that partly what Blue Link offers (or will offer, because 2013 is the earliest it will be available on the Genesis)?

Here in Boston it comes in handy. It's amazing to think that it's so basic
