  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Here is what I did. Called them and asked if they were offering any special deals. They offer 5 months for $20 or one year for $77. I took the one year and gave them my credit card. Was billed $94 and change, no invoice , no explanation. When you sleep with dogs you get fleas.

Definitely call. Mine expired two months ago and I never got a letter or call asking to renew. Oh well, didn't really use XM.

I got the $77 deal plus $12 royalty fees.... I had to convince the person from XM that I got an email from them, or a letter in the mail offering me the deal. Kind of a "wink wink" conversation. If you can't get the person to give you the offer try again later...

When it was time to renew for one year, a $92 charge showed up on my credit card. Not bad, I thought. Then the same charge appears the next month. I called up and said, you billed me twice. Not so, the guy says... we billed you in two installments.

Bottom line, I bitched about it and he agreed to give me the year for $88. We'll see if the appropriate credit shows up next month.

That is bullshit. I'd be pissed. Good thing you look at your statements. I've heard nothing but bad business practices from SiriusXM. I can't live without it though so I'm diligent like you.

To save yourself this hassle, NEVER EVER give Sirius/XM your credit card number. As part of the retention deal, they tell you that they will renew you after the promotional period at the then-current rates, and they will auto-bill your card.

You can tell them you want the card used for this transaction and not placed on your account, but the safer way is to ask for invoice billing. It costs a few bucks, but they will then send a bill to your house, and you can pay by check or money order. That way, XM doesn't have your credit card.

Just before your promo term expires, you can call back, tell them it's too expensive, and you'll get the retention deal again. People have been doing that for years.

Ditto, except pay with a money order. If you pay by check, they have your account number, (and routing number) and I don't put it past them to pull the money out of your checking account.

They tell you that they will give you an extra month if you pay by Credit Card. I went the safe route, had them bill me and paid by money order.

In New York State, the AG sued them for billing customers credit accout without permission. I paid the $77. for the XM, plus the $12 or so for the Royalty Fees, plus the cost for the "Traffic". All told, it came to somewhere around $140. or so.

After expiring in May, they called me in July asking to come back to them.
After explaining that they are not worth the money with constant reruns of their format, they explained that they have changed their format.
They offered 5 months for $20.00 +tax to try them out again.
They are the same.....
Not worth the money if you have an MP3 player.
Will not renew after the 5 months.
