  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I lost my XM reception 2 x's yesterday. Called the 800 # and they sent refresh signal which worked But if I turn the car off, it is gone again. Any suggestions?

I went and had refresher signal sent (4th one). They all took but once car is off it is gone again. Leaving the car on tuesday with free loaner! ( The president of Hyundai is here with a grey Equus!!!!!) BIG push on lexus like customer service according to service manager. I am happy!

I have been experiencing the same problem for 3 months now on my V8 with Technology package. It is also accompanied with weird behavior of the jog dial button, like total unresponsiveness when I make a call (can't hang up) and the radio volume/power button (I can change the volume but I can't turn the radio off by pressing it). Sometimes the voice comand does not respond too and sometimes it just takes forever to initialize ("Please wait..."). The car did not use to behave like this when it was new, I've had it for 10 months now.

The dealer thought it was a faulty amplifier. They ordered one and replaced it on my car. It did not resolve the issue. Hyundai Technical is telling the dealer to reorder a new unit and not use a remanufactured one (part number ends with -FLT when it's factory reconditioned). I am waiting for the next step from the dealership.

Please let us know if your problem is resolved somehow.
Thanks.

Mine does similar things, only when the car has been sitting in the hot sun, and the interior is HOT. (I get the "Please wait" and the one that says "Try again later") Must not ever get hot in Korea :D These "problems" really don't bother me much as I try again a few seconds later, and everything works.

The one that does bother me is when sitting in the sun, and the driver door is HOT, the car will not unlock by touching the black button on the door handle. I have to unlock using the button on the key fob. This is related to HEAT. The other major problem I have, (four times in 13800 miles) is no audio when turning car on, but it comes back when car sits for a few minutes, (like when going to grocery store). Next time this one happens, I will drive directly to dealer and have them do their "tests".

I am working with Sr Reps with XM next week and then if they cant fix it the dealer will swop out the system. XM said they would CXL my subscription and then start a new. I have had this problem for 3 weeks.

I originally posted 3 weeks ago. Took car in for new radio today got call that new radio installed. Same problem. No XM after car is turned off and restarted 5 minutes later except now the blue tooth connects but no one can hear anything!! A lot of aplogies and they will call tech service Monday. Reason is it is a new car and the service people do not even have a service manual. Well, if you don't know what you are doing, don't do anything until you know what you are doing.

I have been having a problem with the voice button on the steering wheel since my purchase in October. Sometimes the voice button will respond on the first push, sometimes it takes 3 or 4 pushes and sometimes you just give up. It happens to me often and I have been able to show the dealer once, but when it gets to the service area it's never a problem. I also have the problem of the voice command repeating the command and then not doing the command.

Re: 3 or 4 pushes. First off, I assume that you have already pushed the DIS knob to get the warning message off. That has to be done first. Second, sometimes, if the inside of my car is hot, I may have to push the voice button more than once. Sometimes when I do hit the voice button, the voice tells me "please wait". Sometimes, it takes a little time.

Re: Repeating the command, then not doing the command: Sometimes the voice command does not understand me (or my accent). I now very seldom use the voice command except to telling it to call home, or call (a person).
If I try to have it call the number I tell it, it often does not understand my instruction. No big deal. If I want to make a call, I either tell the voice command the person, (if it is in my address book) or dial it in the DIS, or I will call from my cell phone address book, or dial it in the cell phone. In the latter two cases, the call still connects through the car bluetooth.

One of the first thing I learned with this auto is that I can’t give it any commands or even push the knob until I have backed out of the garage to the street and placed the car in drive, about 40 feet. It takes that long for the computer to get up to speed and pushing the knob while backing up causes a disconnect with the camera. I have learned to push the knob after placing the car in drive.

If you’re on XM channel 78 and you give the command “FM 91.7” and the computer repeats FM 91.7, you should not expect it to stay on XM 78. FM 91.7 is also a saved radio station. The outdoor temperature or humidity does not seem make a difference.

I think it’s a button and computer problem.

Some good news I wanted to share on this front: my V8+tech package has been fixed. I no longer loose XM radio and the buttons on the steering wheel and the jog dial / bluetooth connectivity / voice command are all working like they used to when the car was new.

The fix was to replace the Amp for the radio, which I believe is much more than just an amplifier. But that had to happen twice before the issue was resolved: the first time, they used a part they call a "floating" unit. The part number ended with a -FLT. That didn't fix it. Hyundai Technical advised to get another Amp without the -FLT in the part number. That did the trick. I almost thought the -FLT meant some remanufactured FauLTy unit...

Got a call from my Hyundai service. It has been ok'ed to get me a new amplifier, not a reconditioned one!!!!! The cost (not to me) is $3200! They know I am a potentila Equus buyer and have owned RR, Bentley, BMW, and MB. Service to be done next week and all because I lost XM reception!

I have experianced L.O.S. more times then I can count. It seems to happen at no perticular time of day or conditon. I would say 6-7 times in 6 months.I call, they resend, and about 20 minutes I'm up and running. I thought it was normal??

3.8 lease

I don't think its normal. I have the v6+tech since May and have never experience LOS, of course I use the car less than normal and not always use xm. I owned acura tl before and never experience any lost of signal.

Got my car back yesterday. NEW amp replaced the original not refurbished at a cost to Hyundai of $2900. Everything working great!!!

Well, I had problem with xm radio not holding on renewal, plus nav bad response w/please wait etc. Dealer service imed ordered new $3,200.
amplifier. All works perfect now. Lynns Hyundai - nj. is great in everyway. They were a Lexus dealer before treat you 1st class.

Only unresolved negative is stinken suspension, out of their control !:)

When you guys had your amplifier replaced, did you lose any DIS or Radio information?

Getting mine replaced on Thursday, when I return to Florida. It should correct the audio problems I had in the past.

Addendum: Amp replaced yesterday and all worked fine until today at 1 PM. XM gone again. Dealer notified. I know this is not dealer fault but I am frustrated as hell. The car is great but this XM ##**#*##*! I am thinking about the lemon law and have told the dealership. They were not happy but understood. This has been worked on 3 times without resolution. I will await Monday phone call.
