Getting familiar with the group...
So followup on my XM Traffic problem:
I called XM and they 'reset' my radio by sending out a signal again over the satellite. The process took about 10 minutes of leaving my car on while outside with the XM radio on. Now I see those beautiful traffic colors on my Nav map again.
The other interesting thing which was mentioned in other posts before is that the subscription is free for only 3 months per XM. We will see if it is a year free or not when my subscription nears its end date.
Thanks for other people's suggestions/posts to this topic.
So followup after 3 months:
My XM radio for my V6 tech package stopped working after 3 months. I called XM and they said your free trial period ended. I mentioned the Genesis had a 1 year free subscription and they had no idea what I was talking about. They referred me back to my Hyundai dealer.
So I called my dealer and apparently they initially gave me the wrong promotion code when starting my XM subscription (or maybe it was so new they didn't have a 1 year promo code). So after couple of days the dealer was able to call XM with the new promo code and were able to reset my subscription and promise it is free for 1 year. Hope this is an isolated incident for Genesis owners.
