  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What 5 relatively inexpensive items would you like to see added to the Genesis?

Here are my 5 Cheap Upgrade Requests:

1. Fabric Lining on door pockets
2. Search Function in iPod Menu
3. Steering Wheel continues to extend when gear shift engaged.
4. Change Sideview mirror logic. Mirrors should swivel to curb view when the selector switch is moved to center (neutral) position, not when left or right)
5. Larger edge lip on Dash Pocket so stuff doesnt fly out under hard acceleration. It's so fun to Hammer the gas on the 4.6 that and my box of mints always shoots out of there.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
1. Puddle lamps in door mirrors and/or exterior door handle illumination
2 Daytime Running Lights (DRL)
3. Bi-Xenon headlights
4. Courtesy lights in each interior door panel and footwell illumination
5. Inscribe the name GENESIS into the top of the front radiator grill

The Genesis needs some more controls on the front passenger seat. For a car as nice as the Genesis some attention should be made for the comfort of the person in the passenger seat. For most luxury vehicles the same power controls that are available on the driver's seat are also available on the passenger seat. This is not a convenience option but a necessity option for people who do a lot of traveling.

Oh heck no... I hate those tiltiing mirrors, I would be nuts if I couldn't shut them off.

I need a turn signal sound that I can HEAR!
Folding mirrors and cooled passenger seat too.

Gosh I just realized that the mirrors tilted yesterday (duh on my part!!) I think they are invaluable when parking and wanting to judge side distance to the curb.

1. blind side alert
2. driver 1/2 key fob individual identification
3. improved/refined NAV voice commands
4. backseat DVD screens w/wireless headphones
5. 4.6 turbo option

You can change your presets without leaving the nav screen by hitting the left/right button on the steering wheel with the Tech package.

Nearwater: I don't know the build date of my car. I bought it in January and I think I recall that the dealer had it for a couple of months. My trunk closes smoothly, but takes a lot of pull to make it go to the bottom.

One of the things I forgot as something that I wish the car had is a way to open the windows and sunroof with the remote. Hondas and Acuras do that and I have found it to be a great way to quickly release hot air in the summer.

^ This. Both my BMW and wife's Infiniti roll windows down by holding the unlock button on the keyfob. Great feature when its 100F+ and you are walking across the parking lot to your car.

Also, I wish that the sunshade would retract as little when the sunroof is cracked. Most other cars I know do this automatically.

There is a previous post: "Autoblink indicators (on a benz, if you tap the lever to indicate lane change it blinks three times. That CANNOT cost much to add)"
I just drove to NY state from Seattle in my 2010 Genesis 4.6 Tech and tapping my turn signal DID autoblink (3 times).

I have a 2012 so a few of these have been addressed since the OP.

However:

I agree with remote widows roll down OR remote start ability.

BETTER and IMPROVED voice commands for NAV, etc. That's firmware.

How about a more Garmin-like feel to the NAV? That would be (3-D VIEW for instance) and satellite map overlays with street view....

Folding rear seat.

Passenger seat LUMBAR adjustment and cooling.

More recessed NAV screen wth a command device more akin to what is in the Lexus SUV (more mouse-like and not knob-like).

Ability to observe the rear view camera without being in REVERSE.

LED license plate lamps

BRIGHT LED under hood light, a brighter LED trunk light

POWER SOCKET in the TRUNK like my Sonata had.
POWER SOCKET for rear seat passengers.

Give me the ability to REMOVE the cigarette ash-tray for something more functional

LED turn signal arrows on rear view mirrors or some sort of turn indicator

REAL GENESIS hood/trunk/steering/wheel badging.

and I cannot understand why Hyundai did not INCLUDE BLUE-LINK on the GENESIS for 2012? It is moronic that it does not. Hell, about EVERY GMC model comes with OnStar.

I'd love to not be forced to hit enter to agree to the nav disclaimer everytime I start the car, whether I'm in nav mode or not!

The nice thing about the Navi on the Genesis is that you can program an address while driving, unlike out Camry.

HUD HUD HUD!!! Still can't get over that fact my '10 4.6 w/Tech has no HUD. I'm coming from a '97 Bonnneville with 225K that I drove for 11 years that had it and while the Genesis is a whole different league on everything else the lack of HUD is a glaring omission for me. They have had to only gotten less expensive to produce and don't understand how they are not standard on every vehicle no matter the price. They are so much safer than having to look down at a speedo if at the very least all they provide is that info, but they can also give so much more.

Sorry... /rant off

Otherwise the standard already listed:
Passenger seat with all the features the driver's seat does
Blind spot detection on pre '12 models
A2DP Bluetooth (seriously? I bought a receiver to do this in the Genesis for $19, come on)
True ESC off

'12 Models don't get blind spot detection either. We get a lane departure warning alarm

Something a bit more prestigious than the $1.98 LED clock.

Actually prefer my $1.98 clock over the quartz clocks that Aston Martin uses.

I STRONGLY agree on the Blue Link issue on the 2012s.

I'd trade my LDWS for BSD in a heartbeat. I never use it.
