I found that both the tire tool and a screwdriver was needed to remove the inserts. Since they are plastic, I was concerned that I would break them either when removing or installing since they bent quite a bit before releasing.
Just wondered if the process gets easier with time? I had to use a rubber hammer to seat them and with no key to align them getting them properly seated and correctly aligned was trying since they tended to move.
I don't think that I would trust a tire shop to remove or install them since they would either scratch or break them.
