That's good to hear. I bought this as a work car/commuter instead of a R-spec because I thought the stiffer ride felt a little out of place in a car like this, there were no more 2012 5.0's to be found at dealers I would give the time of day to, and I already have something even faster. Mileage (so far) aside, I'm impressed.
Yea, I agree. If/when my wife wants one for a third car to drive, V6 it will be. Plenty fast, especially with the bump im HP they claim is coming. With that said, I also looked for and found a good deal on the rare 5.0 non R-spec. Fast at the R, but a softer ride and luxury look. Does not go around the corners like a R... Has the same stuff except for the tires. And maybe some firmer brushings in the R?
NOTHING like a Ford twin cam V8 sound. Either idles smooth as silk, quiet yet rocket fast acceleration. Yes, I meant to say that. Because the Hyundai did copy the modular Ford design. Mercedes did so much in their V6 and V8s they had to license some of the Ford tech. Ford made a commercial many years ago showing German guys riding in golf carts in the Ford US engine plant. Anyway, love the engine and tranny combo.
Oh, on the delayed throttle response. If you try it, you can do a quick "jam" of the throttle very fast. Then let off just as fast. The car will not respond. It is like they out that delay in when you hit it quick to the floor just in case it was a mistake. Like a anti- unintended acceleration program in the digital throttle control.
Then try it where you go under half throttle and stop. Do it quick. The car responds instant in mine. Then I punch it and the push back is immediate. The V6 I had from Hertz did the same thing. And the tranny responds instant to the right gear. Let me know if you guys find the same results. Just for fun.
