R2C Cold Air Intake Interest??

I'm new here, just bought my Genesis 4.6 last week. I also currently work as a project engineer designing new cold air intake systems at a company called R2C Performance. We already have intake systems for all the Genesis Coupes with the exception of the 2013 turbo which is to be completed soon.

So more to the point here, I will probably start some R&D on my 4.6 Tau soon to build a one-off intake, but if there is a market of you out there who may be interested in a R2C intake for your 4.6 Genesis let me know here and I will see if the company would like to move forward to production pieces.

There's at least a 1 person market out here for a CAI for the new 3.8L GDI sedan.

I have a custom solution right now that's not perfect, but it does the job.

I think it is a great idea. The biggest challenge is molding a large air box. It must be larger than the OEM air box; and should incorporate a large air filter, like a K&N #1040. Lingenfelter uses this size air filter.
It is difficult to materially improve the air flow tube from the air box to the throttle body. I think it is best to leave alone; and concentrate on air box design.
Hyundai uses the same basic air box base for all motors V6 and V8. The lid differs in that the 3.8 lid outlet to throttle body faces the rear of the car. The V8 lid outlet faces across the width of the car. Suggest you make a "one size fits all" air box with two outlets and the ability to block off one of the outlets.

2011 V8 here...welcome aboard. I agree with Rey's comments. I would likely be interested if there is a sealed chill box in the design. An open SRI won't be worth it IMO...looks nice but won't out perform stock unless the hood is open with a fan blowing on it.

Is the air box for 09-12 4.6's the same? Assuming yes. If this is the case, I would hope there would be a market for them. Please keep us posted. Thx.

As an update, we are still interested in making a intake for Tau but it is not yet a current project since I am currently working on intakes for vehicles with much a larger market for intakes than us Tau owners. I will keep pushing to get this through as I think it will be a good addition to the car and I want one on mine. I will try to keep everyone updated on when I see this becoming active and how it's moving along.

The more interest I can show the company in posts here, emails (jglass@r2cperformance.com), or any other way to contact us, the more I can push to get the project started.
