  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When you take your genesis in for service do you still get a Genny loaner?

When I purchased my 2010 4.6 Tech I was promised to ALWAYS recieve a genesis or better(Equus) loaner car whenever I brought my car in for service.

Are other dealerships still honoring this? What have your experiences been?

I was really onboard with the new '15 Genesis but if I'm not getting loaners on service I dont think I can justify the $50k price.

Yes, I had an older Genesis loaner for a few days, the second time my car was in the dealership they gave me a very basic VW Passat Box....

My car has been in the shop ~6 times (2 different dealerships). Not once have I ever gotten a Genesis or better. The only Hyundai loaners I've ever gotten have been Elantras.

  1. Each dealer is an independent company and generally can handle the loaner issue as they please. Some dealers do provide loaners. Also, in some recall or warranty cases, Hyundai Motor America may instruct the dealer to give a loaner and may then reimburse the dealer.
  2. I believe that Hyundai Motor America requires dealers to always give a loaner for Equus owners, and will deliver to the owner's location.
  3. There is no guarantee that one can always get a Genesis loaner (or Equus loaner if an Equus owner), even if their policy is to try and do that.
  4. Verbal agreements regarding a vehicle purchase (and any terms thereof) are not binding. All terms and conditions (including loaner promises) must be in writing in order to be legal.

Never had a Genesis loaner. I don't care, as my dealer never promised a loaner. I always ask for the Bentley :), but so far have received lesser Hyundai models that were clean, safe and dependable (and appreciated).

Someday, perhaps the Bentley (they own a Bentley franchise), but not yet. ;)

Depends on dealer.

Mark_888 pretty much got what I see at local dealers. Some do have loaner vehicles but they are "first come, first serve" for anybody - not just Genesis or Equus owners. My dealer has 2 loaners... they're gone first thing in the morning.

Equus owners are the only folks guaranteed to get a loaner as long as they use a certified Equus dealer - not all Hyundai dealers are allowed to do Equus sales/service.

This is the case in the US; not sure what Hyundai's policies are worldwide.
