If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Friends,

I am going to finalize my car purchase today. Just wanted to know if I am paying more for this car. The car may soon need 4 tires and apart from that, no issues with it. It has the tech package, backup camera etc.
18000 for 2009 Geny 4.6L V8. It has 55000 miles on it.
Looking forward for your opinion. good deal or a bad deal ?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Hey there. As a comparison, I bought a 2011 4.6 40,000 certified pre-owned for $23k at Fitzgerald Hyundai in Clearwater.

Thanks Jut. That seems to be a better deal than mine. Appreciate your time.

It seems like there are enough changes after 2009 to warrant skipping the first year and move to a 2010-2011.

For reference, I bought a 2010 4.6/Tech with 27K and new tires for $21.5 last week.

Seems High.

I am working on a deal for a 11 - 33K miles OTD with Extended warranty (HPP) for 24,000

4.6 Tech Grey / Blk

Your warranty will expire (if the 60 months hasn't already) @ 60k. So dont expect the 10yr/100k

I will sell my Genesis 5.0 (non-rspec) 2012 for 31K. It has 19,700 miles on it. Immaculate condition, not a scratch. Titanium Silver color with all upgrades.

Alright. So after all your valuable inputs, I dropped the idea of 2009 and checked out a 2011 4.6 V8 from the dealer with 39K miles on it for $21238, Titanium Gray, one owner. I generally do 20point check before buying a car, will do the same for this. This is the split up I got from the dealer
Car Price: 21238
Electronic Tag 98
Dealer fee 699
Sales Tax 1372
Tag 450
? 71
Total 23,929 (So I have to pay this amount to walk out with car)
Is this a good deal ?

If that's for the 4.6, I think it's a good deal. Is it certified pre-owned?

Sounds OK.

I was working on a CPO car with the Extended warranty for 24,000 OTD... with 33,000 miles.

Sounds like a fair deal.

I actually just sealed a deal on a 2011 with 11,000 Miles... CPO, extended Warranty (Platinum) for 28,000 OTD (Taxes, tags, warranty, everything.)

deal sounds ok. I just put a deposit on a 2011 4.6, 25k miles, for $21k. A couple of scratches on the trunk that probably won't detail out. Cheapest I've seen around my northeast area. I probably should hold out for a certified one, a grand or two(?) higher, but tired of looking.

Thanks for the information. So you will have 60Months/60000 miles bumper to bumper warranty on that, even though its not certified ? That's what my dealer says, just wanted to confirm

Yes, I will only have the transferable 5/60k warrantly, in my case good until 11/15. The 10/100k powertrain warranty is only good for the initial owner, or can be transferable if the used car is bought from a Hyundai dealer.

Personally, I think that the fact that the 10/100 warrantly is not normally transferrable stinks and is misleading, as Hyundai advertises this powertrain warranty all the time, but never mentions the limitations on it's transferrability. Most folks, I think, would assume that since it is a dealer warranty that it would go with the car. What else are they going to screw me on...

Yes it is a 4.6L V8. Not certified pre-owned.

If it's not certified then the warranty ends at the same time it does when buying from an individual.

Really ? so nothing would be covered eventhough it has 60000 mile warranty ? I thought it will be covered upto 60000 ? Are you sure about this ?

TLDR: Radio/head units is 3/36. All other Bumper-bumper is 5/60.
10/100 powertrain is new car and CPO only.

vinod - read the link in pmcernie's post if you are unclear.
