  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

i have the winged bentley emblem on the hood and trunk and the wheels. the steering wheel still has the H. i see there are double sided taped emblems for the steering wheel online for $10 or so. has anyone used this? will it stick and look good? i prefer not to have to uninstall anything especially with the airbag behind it.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
It actually looks really bad since it's not actually meant to go there. It really cheapens the interior in my opinion.

There are many threads on this subject. Try the search function or use Google search.

Here is what it looks like in my car. I like it better than the "H".

I installed the stick on wheel emblem. I am disappointed. I think it's tacky compared to the rest of the car. So I ordered the KDM airbag with the proper emblem and I am now waitng for it to arrive. I will try to heat up the tacky stick on emblem and peel it off so I can sell the factory airbag on eBay with the flying H.

How much did the KDM airbag steering wheel cost you if you don't mind me asking?

Totally agree, the sticker sucks for the wheel. I removed mine and installed the KDM airbag. Looks great. Sold my OEM airbag on Ebay for $150

the sticker looks like a misplaced sticker on the airbag. if you are going the kdm rebadge route or just trying to get rid of the "lazy H", go for the winged airbag. a little more upfront cost, but 1000 times better looking. installation was simple.

Same here. I ordered from this place and they have already shipped. I am waiting to receive the part now. Looks simple enough to change out.

Yup pretty easy.
Remove negative battery terminal in trunk

2 - T40 torx screws holding the airbag onto the steering wheel
These screws do not come out. They are held on the steering wheel. So just loosen them till the airbag comes loose.

Once you get the airbag loose you will see two connecters on the airbag (see pic below). They are held on buy those two orange clips. Take a small flat bladed screwdriver and pry them up. They pull straight out. Then you can remove the connectors.

Remove the connector that is plugged into the steering wheel (connector on left side)
Remove the ground connector on the right side as well.

Swap bag then reverse the process.
Done.
Here's a pic of a Hyundai airbag.

that's a pretty steep cost. and to have to tamper with an airbag of all things... i may have to pass on this. although i really don't like the H logo on the wheel as well as on my car key. haha! i can cover them with black electrical tape i guess.

The steering wheel emblem cover...better than electrical tape. Not horrible... But the air bag replace is nicer .... Not 200+++ installation nicer mind you...

Same here. I have my 2009 Genesis and had the steering wheel emblem put on, along with the wings for hood, trunk and wheels. My interior is black and the emblem still looks good on my car which is cherry in appearance. Just rolled 29,000 miles this morning.

Agreed!! Also, I put the badge on my steering wheel and to me it looks perfectly in place. I don't understand why some say it looks like it doesn't belong...... but to each their own.

I'm very satisfied and cannot stand that flying "H"

You will probably get over the H on the steering wheel after awhile. If not, some medical marijuana will do the trick.

Frankly, I'm surprised that a manufacturer hasn't produced a better looking emblem.....the wings encased in acrylic for instance.

All the other "wings" are Hyundai OEM parts from the Korean version of the Genesis. The existing H on the US Genesis steering wheel is not removable, so any wing has to sit on top of it (the OEM Korean part is the entire airbag assembly).

One problem any wing that sits on top of the existing one is product liability, since if the airbag is deployed, anything siting on top of the bag is going to come flying off at a very high rate of speed and could injure someone. Lawyers love that kind of stuff.
