If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I got my permanent plates in the mail for the new Genesis yesterday and realized there was no place to put the front plate. I bought it at a dealership pretty far away (but in the same state). I found the bracket for the front plate by the spare tire in the trunk, but there really aren't any instructions on how to install it. Anyone have any tips? I didn't want to mess up the front end at all, but cops around here are pretty strict so I don't think I can get away without ever installing it. Thanks!!

I think it will only fit in one place on the grille properly. There's a notch in the top edge of the bracket that straddles a rib in the center of the grille just below the radar. It's the only position where it will fit. Good luck. :)

There are tiny marks where the self tapping screws go, the bumper/grill is marked for both US and European size plates.

Wow that just ruins the whole look of the front end.

Yep, but we have no choice in commie California. I have a ticket right now for no front plate and tint= cost is 50.00 with corrections and 360.00 if not corrected. I'm paying the 360.00 for now, but that doesn't get me a free pass. If I get another I will remove the tint and add a plate...

Texas is strict as well. I wish I could take it off but placing my license plate in the windshield isn't too visually appealing either on such a nice car lol

I can't take the 360.00 fine lol

I had the dealer mount my bracket upside down. As you can see, it makes the plate a little lower.

That looks much better!. Did it require the drilling of new pilot holes?

Hahaha! Isn't that the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

Ernie,, Me marrying a redhead was insane.. :D

The ticket was on my Baja commuter car, not the genesis. The tint is light on the front doors not limo dark.

So for those of us that had the plate holder on the vehicle already, any idea how to fill the 4 screw holes that are left behind or at least get them to the point that they aren't obvious?

California tint laws are very strict. The front side windows must be 70% VLT or higher. The cops want to be able to see what is going inside the car when they pull someone over and approach the car.

And yet they still get hosed.
I must agree that the front license plate absolutely ruins the look of the front end completely. More so for the 2015 design.
Mine (the coupe version) has been in the 4th year running without one (in Texas), fingers crossed.:D

Never thought about that until now some front plates aren't needed in NC. It does ruin the front.

Lower front plate for the win. Nice thinking. Should have been this way from the factory.

Can you post pics where we can see the whole car from the front and slightly off to one side to better see how this plate placement looks? Thanks!

Wow. What a great idea. Lowering that front plate bit just a little bit improves the front end appearance dramatically.

Remember…the eyes of the beholder. To me if I have to have the front plate and I do. I much prefer it where it is. Reasons why? First in that position it looks to me like it’s hanging down off the front visually too close to the ground. Second it breaks up the outline of the grille which I like very much. To each their own.
