Hey everyone,
I just did a test drive today and came up with a few questions after the fact which I can't readily answer. Hoping someone here has input. Some to do with the test drive, some to do with messages I've read here in the forum.
1. During the test drive the lane-keeping functionality (hope that's the correct name - the one which auto-corrects steering to keep you in your lane) was working then a little later stopped. The salesman tried everything to re-enable it (via menus) but even though it appeared to be on, the symbol which appears in the top left corner of the driver info panel would not re-enable and the lane guidance icons on the HUD disappeared. The lane keeping function just did not engage again. Any ideas?
2. There is no remote start button on the remote. The salesman said it can be added to the car as an option. All the reading I've done seems to point at Blue Link providing the only remote start functionality that the car has. Is there no FOB-based remote start? If so, the Blue Link info I've read talks about a monthly subscription fee. Does that mean that if I want to be able to remote-start the car I'll have to pay a monthly fee to do it?
3. The advertising indicates there are 2 Android apps (one Blue Link and another one). Searching the Play store from my phone doesn't list any but searching from my computer shows a "2015 Genesis" app. According to one note I read, the app will not work with a rooted phone. Is this so?
4. The salesman could not show me live traffic on the car's nav system. He said it needs to be activated via an XM subscription. Are there any Canadian Genesis owners here who can confirm that the live traffic works and is accurate?
Thanks.
