  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Good afternoon,

Wanted some ideas. Copped a '13 v6 last week and I see that I have the yellowish headlights with fog lights and the real pretty bright "eyebrow". I don't want to do some all out headlight conversion, do any of yall know what bulbs I would need to get that "whiteish" look just like the eyebrow ?

Thanks

Are those ~4000K HID headlight you're talking about or halogen in the projectors? Also, are you actually asking about the Headlights or the fog lights? The fog lights are cerainly halogen. My headlights are HID but not as high temp to match the color of the eyebrows.

Probably need some 5000k or 5500k bulbs to match the DRL strip. Need to know if your headlights are HID from factory or not. Not sure about the 13' models but my 10' could come with or without HID.

If you want white, you might look at some Sylvania Silver Star ZXE bulbs, they cost a lot more (and burn out twice as fast) than OEM bulbs, but are advertised as very white.
I think that the standard low beam bulb is an H11, and the high beam (which also doubles as the DRL) is an H7.
I have the HID low beams on my Genesis, but I was thinking about changing the Hi-beam to the ZXE bulbs to get rid of the yellow DRL's.
.
PS I've seen the ZXE bulbs for either $60, or $50 for a pair of them.

My car came with the low beam HID's so i changed my bulbs to the OSRAM D1S COOL BLUE 66144 CBI. They are 5500K and have a "Cool blue" look to them. I also installed 25W 5000K HID's in my fogs. Looks so much better now. :)

Just need to find a solution for the DRL/High beams.. I'm currently looking looking at some LED headlights (bulbs) since i need my brights.

I changed my HIDs to the Osram D1S CBI bulbs too, the light improvement is like night and day, with the high beams I put the Osram halogen CBI H7, they have a nice whiter light with a 20% gain over stock high beams, a little yellowish compare with the HIDs but definitely an improvement over stocks.

Are the HIDs 35w or 55w? I'm assuming 35 but not positive.

Factory HIDs are 35w. Osram CBI D1S are same as factory
