  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Heads up display on this car is wow. All info projected on you windshield in clear view. Speed, Cruise Control info, posted speed limit, school zones, Lane keep assist, blind spot detection, Navigation instructions, and the big red car when emergency braking is about to happen. And a lot more warning alerts and systems.

This was one thing that made me choose this car over others. It is the most useful driving tool ever.

Yeah yeah yeah... thanks a lot! now I having buyers remorse.

Honestly... that looks really nice.

My favorite feature too....besides the automatic trunk. LOVE, LOVE LOVE it. ;)

I never thought that I would like the HUD so much, but it has proven to be extremely valuable now that I have owned the car for a couple of weeks. I love the Speed Limit info as well as having the ability to put the Blind Spot monitoring info in the HUD. Even when I am not looking to turn or change lanes, it is nice to know when vehicles are in my blind spot without ever having to take my eyes off of the road ahead.

I like the flashing red car and warning you get when your about to hit someone. It has saved me a few times for sure. The HUD is just an all around must have I think for any car. I won't buy another car without one now that I have had the opportunity to use one. I even like the small things about it like the audio volume.

So when you almost hit someone previously it was uneventful without the flashing red car?:D

It really is great and I would say just the tip of the iceberg as far as HUDs go. I would like to see a few things added, specifically turn signal indicator and high beam indicator. I wonder if this is something that could be added via a software upgrade? I would think so - whereas before the images were 'fixed', I think now they are a projection of an image.

A very cool example of an advanced prototype is from Land Rover - "invisible hood"....

I liked the HUD in my C6 Corvette but this one is much better. Color makes a big difference and having the BSM display is a great feature.

Now if they can only make it more visible when wearing polarized sunglasses.

The HUD on this car is geat. Agree with others here it is very useful.

They may have to suspend the laws of physics to do this. When light gets reflected from glass it gets polarized, the amount of polarization depending on the angle of reflection.

Does anyone know why the stearing wheel shows up in the HUD. On mine it displays then goes away then back again... Its sometime annoying.

I believe this shows up when you turn on the lane departure feature. Basically an indicator to say it is active.

As has been mentioned the steering wheel is an indicator showing when the lane depature feature is active. The factors that govern it are minimum speed for operation and clarity of lanes as seen by the camera. That's why it seems to go on and off sometimes depending on your speed and how well defined the lane markers are.

Agree, very informative HUD, one of better ones out there!

Thanks for the reply, where did you find this information? i've been looking everywhere for it.
