  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I drove a 2015 Genesis Tech package loaner today when my 2012 Genesis was in service as I am thinking about getting a ver 2 Genesis with HTRAC for the winters here in New England.

I like to listen to Beats streaming audio on my iPhone and it works fine on my 2012 playing it through the apple cable. It also worked fine playing it through streaming Bluetooth on the 2015 Genesis. I tried to get streaming audio from Beats (or Deezer) to play through a connected cable connection thinking the audio would sound higher quality through a connected cable as well as showing cover art however it did not work. When I tried streaming it would only play for a second then start playing music that was stored on my iPhone .

Has anyone else experienced this and is there a way to play streaming audio through a connected cable? Any further news on Apple CarPlay for the Genesis?

The bit I can add in here is that in my 2015 Genesis Ultimate whenever I PLUG IN my iPhone using a lightning cable to the USB plug, AS SOON AS IT'S PLUGGED IN it SWITCHES from whatever I've been listening to, radio, SXSM, Jukebox and switches to whatever's on my iPhone.

So that may be the issue and it can be easily switched back to ... whatever, by tapping the relevant button on the dashboard: AM/FM, SXSM, jukebox, etc.

Knowing our vehicle's the auto-play phone can probably be stopped, just not bothered checking.

Can anyone comment if on the 2015 Ultimate if you can stream Apple Music or anything else for that matter directly through a lightning/USB connection without a problem. Will it pass information?

Mine does. No problems.
I have a 2015 3.8 signature and tech and I cannot stream when connected via a lightning cable. It acts just like the original poster said. It plays for 1 second and then switches to "iPod mode" and stops streaming. I am only able to stream when disconnected from the cable.

that sounds like a bug to me. For it to play for 1 second then switch and not allow you to play means that the car recognizes the apple music playing.. What version of iOS are people running and which phones? I know my 128gb iPhone 6 runs like crap now since i installed iOS 9(runnig 9.0.2 now and still sucks).

I believe 9.0.2 has several issues - stay on 9.0.1 if possible until a new update.

It happened to me with iOS 8 as well as 9. I think it's a car issue or settings issue not a iOS issue.

That is interesting to me.. I know in my Tahoe my aftermarket radio glitches up sometimes.. Like the XM radio wont work so i just reboot it as im driving. I dont know if you can do that with the Genesis.
