  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Price Paid For 2015 Genesis

- looks like that tidbit may have tipped to scale for me to "wait 'n see" a few months longer

Which is why companies prefer their people don't help stall sales that way. Adam Osborne had a term coined for this potential effect.

I disagree, Osborne was a different era. Hell, look how popular auto industry spy shots are. It pays to generate buzz for your product anyway you can.

He said it would be for the '16 MY? Information like this nearly makes me want to wait for the '16s to come out and just hold onto my '12 for a bit longer.

With info on the 16's being two to three months away and the April incentives being so so, why not wait at least the month?

My lease matures in July so I do have time. But the dealership I purchased from has a deal with Hyundai where they cover the last 3 payments of my current lease to get into another Hyundai. Covering those last 3 payments will effectively balance out the mileage overage that I have on my current Genesis.

With the looks of the 2nd gen, and all the corners Hyundai cut trying to stay below a price point, I'll be keeping my '12 for a *long* time!

I have to disagree. The advancements made with the ride and handling characteristics of the new Gennie is enough to get me into a '15.

Style is subjective, what corners were cut? Not many for the Tech and/or Ultimate trims that I can think of.

Just purchased a 15 Genesis @ Jerry's Hyundai in Weatherford TEXAS, Sticker was $40k and I got it for much much less.

They keep around 40 Gens in stock and I found the person I get the best price is a young lady named Dayana Northrup, she will agree to a deal making much less commission then her male counterparts. Lat month she sold 17 cars!

I have purchaed 5 Hyundais from Dayana and every deal has been smooth, no hassle nor BS.

I DO NOT work for the dealership!!!

I have been around dealership for 60 years and I have never been treated so fair as I have here and everyone is TEXAS Friendly.

If you want to contact me PM I will give you her direct number.

Last week I put my wife's 2010 Santa Fe in their shop for a power steering pump noise under warranty and they GAVE me a 2015 Sonata Hybird full of gas as a no charge loaner.

40 in stock? Wow, they must be a VERY high volume dealership. The most I've seen at any of a half dozen dealership with 6-8 of them

Hey, it's the Lone Star State...everything is bigger in Texas

Let's start off with the simple fact that the 2012 R-spec sedan was bay far no way close to qualifying for that title. Read the reviews. I owned a 2012 Genny Sedan with the R-spec badge and agree with the reviews. Though Hp was ample, it came on slowly due to delays in the transmission shifts. It was almost like the transmission was hunting to see what gear it could get away with to conserve fuel. This was so even with the Eco mode turned off. On the highway, kick the throttle to the floor and waited for the car to make up it's mind to move out. The GPS sucked, just as bad as it did on my 2010 coupe. The seats were not very supportive which lead to camps on a 5 or 6 hour drive.

My new 2015 Genny 5.0 sans R-spec label is vastly improved in acceleration. The transmission shifts quickly. the suspension is no longer mushy and shows more willingness to take hard commands from the helm. Turn the wheel and she responds very willingly with minimal over or under steer. The electronic power steering is great.

The GPS is vastly improved as well, though I appreciate the new Voice Box, the GPS itself is still not as good as the Garmin in user friendliness and the ability to find places by type of location or name. Seems Hyundai is still trying to force the owners to purchase the Blue-Link package. The 9.2 inch screen has much improved graphics over the 2012 unit in the R-spec.

I have notices a considerable difference in the lighting packages, mostly exterior, when comparing the different levels of trim. So much so that when reading the forums here, where folks are talking about what size light bulb goes where , there is no constancy.
Still don't know why Hyundai won't list bulb sizes in the owners manual.

So far, I love my 2015 Hyundai 5.0 Genny with the Ultimate package ..... even though there are many improvements I could suggest.

Oh, and for all those who need the R-spec label to validate their Manly Hood .... My dealer is willing to place it on the tail of any Hyundai he sells. LOL

They are a hi volume dealer and they do it by treating folks TEXAS like!

This is sort of related to topic: I was in Huntington Beach yesterday (HQ) and was in line at a popular lunch spot behind a Hyundai marketing rep. We struck up a brief conversation about the Genesis and he let it slip (maybe/maybe not intentionally) that the '16 model will include additional refinements to make for a more "spirited, performance oriented driving experience"
I pressed for more details and even dropped an R-Spec bomb. Unfortunately all I got was a grin and the 'ol "wait 'n see".
He did say that forums like these are monitored almost daily and feedback is taken heavily into consideration.

Hope they bring some of the extra feature/options that you get in Korea and Australia.

Finally found the external and interior color combo I wanted in San Jose. Empire State Grey / Ivory all wheel drive 3.8 ultimate. MSRP $52,635.00, True Car offer was $49,840.00. I contacted the dealer got the price down to $46,640.00. Did not qualify for any of the incentives but dealer threw in $1,000.00 customer cash. With tax and all the other crap, out the door...$51,684.00.:) good day.

That's a really good price !

I also curious to hear about these corners you speak of.

All you have to do is read the threads here. No fog Lights, rear windows that don't roll all the way done, no fully adaptive headlights, apparently no electric/hydraulic steering, inferior quality paint (see the thread about stone chips), lesser horsepower (yeah, I get about the torque curve), questionable tires, steel hood instead of aluminium hood, for starters. And bigger and heavier to boot.

I agree with you on that! I might pull the trigger sooner than I thought, who knows! :D

Well....hope I got a good price since I love the car and finding out I didn't would hurt a little. TrueCar says I got an "unusually low price."

Right at a week ago, bought a 15 Genny, 3.6 RWD, Ultimate for $44k....TTT increased total but being military stationed out of my home state, not too bad.

Parisian grey with ivory interior. Love it....until I spill something.
