  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

For those interested here is the 2015 KDM Genesis brochure (PDF). You can pop any of the text into Google translate to convert the Korean to English.

Some interesting notes that may have not been noticed before:

Both their standard nav and 9.2" HD systems clearly show 3D images on the screens in the photos...which is interesting since the systems in the US do not. I wonder if this is more a function of the nav data they are using for the US cars. Maybe there is hope we'll get 3D imagery someday.

There is an interesting brown leather shown not offered in the US.

Small photo of the blue mood lighting option.

The rear deluxe console has 12v power and USB in it...do wish we could get the rear control console & monitors.

I had to share the file via my DropBox account as it was too large to upload.

Enjoy!

Argh! What I wouldn't give to be able to read Korean right now.

I don't understand Hyundai's "strategy" in holding back competitive features from the US market Genesis (most notable 3D maps, surround view camera, smart park assist). Even if these will be available in the next Equus, the price difference is too great to worry about cross-shopping.

However minor it may seem, the lack of the 3D (or is it birds-eye) map and surround view camera have me waiting (hoping) they will be introduced in MY16

My spouse is SO upset with me for not buying a 2015 already that I have no choice but to now buy a 2016 no matter what the feature set ends up being. As I have complained elsewhere in the forum my entire hangup with the 2015 was the fog light situation and the V6 car - it was simply the principle of the thing especially as I saw Sonata after Sonata running around town (and that is a LOT of Sonatas) with fog lights :)

....so now I'll be fulfilling my promise to her to buy a 2016 or she'll buy it...come fog lights or not.

I would love to see the around view camera get added but I would settle for the headlight / DRL setup to mirror the other markets.

I thought about just buying an A6 but just can't justify the extra $$...configured apples to apples its around a $15K difference.

:)

I still consider myself a die hard A6/A7 fan but as costs creep up past $65K for a comparable model ($73K+ for the A7) I had to let go of the dream. The Genny is a great value and equal performer. I just wish Hyundai would offer a US version on par with UK/AUS/KDM.

If they did, you would once again be up to the price of the dream you had to let go. ;)

I don't expect all of the same features, just the few that make the Genny more comparable to vehicles it competes against. 3D maps and surround view should be added to the tech package....if not standard. Smart Park and a few others could be added to the Ultimate package adding no more than $1500 (hopefully) to its cost.

I have the same problem with the V6 Genesis but even if you get the V8, you're still going to see Sonata's running around with their nice LED fog lights during the day while yours can't be turned on without the headlights being on... So you might as well just follow the discussion about installing them aftermarket and running them to the fuse box to stay on while the ignition is on...

I figure at this point I'll just wait until the 2016MY is announced :)

Would be great if some leaked MY2016 info made its way to the forum. Who knew Hyundai could be so secretive [emoji87]

May not be secretive, may just be there is little or no change planned after first year. Would be unusual to see many changes this soon, however some initial oversights (DRL, USB, user settings) maybe could be hopefully sneaked in.

Add a 3D maps setting (the current nav map looks outdated) and surround view (no more wheel rash or bumper dings) and I'm sold.
