I think you are right, I think the WRX/EVO market will take the biggest hit, I can't imagine Infinity will loose a lot of it's G37 sales...
It's FACT buddy.
I'm NOT your buddy(, Guy)!
It would cost a LOT to upgrade this engine to the Evo X spec, and people are blowing that engine with < 450 WHP.
Engine's power threshold in its stock configuration has so many things to consider. State of tune, parts used, power it was making, presence of detonation etc need to be taken into account when one says xx engine is likely to blow above xxxwhp.
With a safe tune and good parts, U.S. tuners are able to make well over 450whp on Evo X's. The failure occurs due to detonation which results from a bad tune and failure from sheer resistance to combustion power on the rod are completely different things.
That U.K. tuner does not what he's talking about and I'm sure david buschur and many other U.S. tuners will laugh their asses off when they hear this.
People will blow their perfectly fine 4g63 motors, 4b11t motors, and even 2jz-gte motors at low hp. That doesn't mean the motors themselves physically can't handle the power output. To say the 4b11t stock internals blow up at 450whp or above is purely idiotic as it is proven the rod is more than capable to hold 450whp.
I'm only a member of evom for 4 years, so what do i know?
question for you : do you even own an evo?
Why would I want an Evo? I have a heavily modded 335i 6MT Coupe.
There's a good bit more to why engines fail than either 'tuning' or gross mechanical failure. If you're going for higher power, thermal management is paramount, for instance.
I've only got a nuclear engineering degree from MIT, what do I know?
Dude, less flame and more constructive conversation is vastly appreciated.
Hi slowboyy...
For the sake of easy reading can you please not type in all CAPS? It just makes it easier on the eyes... also no one would think you're screaming
To answer your questions... your question diverts the comparable to apples vs. oranges. Even the 370Z, is not a 2+2 like the Genesis coupe. It may have the tuner hype but you're comparing it to the wrong vehicles. If anything this vehicle is aimed at the G37 coupe, which costs alot more.
Totally OT too, but I believe south park ripped it off dane cook.I'M NOT YOUR GUY, FRIEND!
I'm sorry I can't resist a good South Park reference when one is staring me in the face, please don't flame me.
The Ginny coupe will never be an STI...
