  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Genesis Sedan Reviews

Thanks for posting it up I had been reviewing this forum for weeks gathering data from you guys before spending plenty of time on this review.

It is by far one of the better cars we have been in without a doubt.

Nice review, pretty much spot on in every respect. You have done an excellent job of explaining the difference between driving the V6 vs the V8.

Yes, great, in-depth review. When I saw it was over 20 minutes long I wasn't going to watch it (I'm short on time) but I watched the whole thing. :)

I liked seeing what the undercarriage looked like with the car up on the lift. Especially with the panels removed.

Wish they would have touched on the AWD.

Ditto - definitely one of the best video reviews (also would have liked to have seen a more in depth look of the H-TRAC system).

Very nice video quality.

just returned from a 300 mile roundtrip road trip in my 15 v6 genesis
this could be the best car ive ever had. the seats were very comfortable and thats without the tech pkg. i avg 27.5 mile hwy with the a/c was cranking. i didnt hear any rattles or unusual noises. And the hankook tires i have no complaints smooth as silk

Good review, however they caught the 300 right before a major refresh due for the 2016 model year. Engines choices will include the 6.4 liter V8 Hemi.

I dont understand why some reviews say the interior has cheap plastic. I dont see or feel them anywhere.

The non-Ultimate cars have the fake plastic wood dash's unlike our real wood dashes with the Ultimate's. I was given a Genesis V6 while my car was in the shop and that car had the fake plastic dash and I must say, it really brings the quality of the rest of the interior down compared to the real wood IMHO.

Judging by the cost of the cars reviewed the Genesis was an ultimate ($52450.00) and if I remember correctly the reviewer recanted his interior opinion later. I watched another review on youtube where the reviewer in an ultimate said Hyundai should not use fake wood on the cars it didn’t go with the image. It’s good thing he’s not a wood reviewer.

I think part of the problem is some people go into reviewing a Genesis with a bad attitude to begin with. So that may be affecting their opinion. Though at least some reviewers have their mind changed...

My guess is simply some of the plastic bits such as knobs and center console buttons. In this area at least Lexus and maybe others are ahead of the Genesis, for example knurled aluminum knobs. Still, the Genesis all have some sort of matte finish that is quite nice, not quite soft touch and with good positive feedback on dials. Hopefully they will hold up well.

I agree with you about the quality of the switches in the Genesis.

I think the reviewers were referring to the plastic dash and center console. They're probably used to full leather interiors. While the Germans do usually have full leather interiors in the higher trim levels (which they probably ship to the reviewers), these are usually part of a several thousand dollar package. Some of the lower trim levels that are priced closer to the Genesis don't even have real leather seats.
