  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Dealership today told me Hyundai only provides the combination USB and 3.5mm audio jack to 30 pin Ipod connector cord, they don't offer the same combo USB and audio jack to the Samsung micro USB 3.0 cord. Therefore I'm apparently not going to be able to connect my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to my head unit to allow communication for Android Auto. Funny how Hyundai supports Android Auto but doesn't offer a cord that works with Android phones, only Apple.

Anyone have any aftermarket cord options or work arounds? I searched all over the internet and can't find anything other than a 30 pin Ipod female adapter to male USB 3.0, but all of the listings state data/sound won't transmit, they will only work as charging functionality.

This is all new to dealers. You are putting the cart before the horse. Relax. Once your car is upgraded to use Android Auto you will have a setup screen to activate the USB port. This assumes you have a '15 Genesis, which you did not mention.

Thank you for the feedback - I'm still wondering how I can use the Apple 30 pin cord with my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 phone (forget about Android Auto functionality) to transmit data/sound - the dealership told me to go buy an adapter, but all the adapters I was able to find on the internet clearly stated they would only allow for charging, not sound or data transfer.

I'm confused, why would you also need the 3.5 mm connector? Android Auto works with only the standard USB connection, there are already videos of it working in a Sonata. I'm not sure if the audio goes over Bluetooth or the USB but you are good to go without some weird cable.

Dealer told me I had to buy the cable assy - ipod (Hyundai Genuine Parts # 08620 2L000) and then buy an adapter from the 30 pin Ipod/Iphone type cord to the Samsuny micro USB 3.0. Sounds like that is not accurate?
