If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Genesis 5.0 Transmission Issue

Are they going to do the recall and then test it again? I was very skeptical that it was the root cause but like I said, no issues since. What I am wondering is if the water builds up and creates an electrical short. The TCB does not have them doing anything except install rubber/foam pieces to keep the water from coming into contact with the wiring. Keep us posted. Glad to hear your dealer is like mine. They put me into a 2015 Genesis V6 model. Impressed with how they treat us Genesis owners at Wallace Hyundai in Stuart.

Dealer confirmed the CAN digital bus can be busted with the moisture problem in the lights in the trunk lid. And will crater tranny as reported here due to conflicting instructions to the transmission caused by the leak. When I suggested this as a ultimate outcome because of the moisture, it was confirmed. I watched the modification.. Seems like that little pad could harden over time and let moisture in. But it is synthetic material. May have very long life.

That's good to know. I have had two instances where it literally felt like I was rear-ended when I jumped on the throttle in heavy traffic.

I had the recall done last week and hope this takes care of it.

I am amazed how much better the quality has been on this car than my previous Genesis. I have about 7700 miles and no problems. On my 2009 I had head unit problems from Day 1.

Get that. And I agree... Great quality overall IMO at this time.. Glad you like it so well

Isn't a recall a problem?

Just noticed (just started this) that if I floor it when going about 35mph, it accelerates fine until it hits about 5,500rpms, then it jerks hard as if the rev limiter cuts engine off? The jerk in the car is abrupt, not subtle at all. My wife thought I was hitting the brake real quick and letting off. This is not right.

OK, it took a week to fix it, but it is fixed. It was a crimped fuel line, so they replaced the entire fuel line from fuel tank to engine as I understand it. They detected that it was not getting the correct pressure when at 100% throttle and at about 5000 rpm. Hyundai experienced exactly what I did, so not problem with making it act up. Took a while for parts and a long time to put the fuel line in since they do not have all the tech manuals they needs (as per service mngr). But I was happy since they put me in a really nice 5.0 new Genesis ... I really like the white ..... it was not an ultimate, but it sure felt lighter than my ultimate??? OK, problem solved when it doesnt shift correctly when under 100% throttle. Regards.

FYI - mine had nothing to do with the tail light gasket ... was a fuel line issue. Regards.

I think you should give your dealer a shout out by name. Give him credit when credit due.

I agree 100%. Parkway Hyundai, Wilmington, NC. They have always helped me out and gone out of their way to do so. Service Rep Is Chris Dean -- He's the one who really takes care of any issues I have.

The 2015 Genesis is running great once fuel line repaired/replaced. It ran great before, just had an issue if you gave it full throttle. Got to love these new Genesis. Regards.
