  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Huddleston's Build Thread

you can essentially switch between a straight piped sound and the factory sound. you can also open them partially. I have never had them on a car before but from my understanding they work well.

I thought I would share a few more pictures of the parts I've got on the way as well as a few more of the car as is - a better windshield shot and a side shot.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Very Nice, I personally am not a huge fan of the new body but in white with tint not too bad.

I'm in. Can't wait to see. Too bad you already ordered wheels...I have a set of 3pc for cheap. LOL.

Very interested to see how you do your intake. It was fun on my build trying to adapt the low pressure catch from over the radiator.

hmm how cheap? and got pics? lol pm me if you would, but do note I wont be able to buy for several months at least.:D

A little update.... decided to go a different route with the coilovers. KDMholic got me in touch with a KDM company that makes springs for the 2015+, and the drop is exactly what I am looking for from a reputable company.

I am dropping off the car to have the holes filled in the rear and front on the first weekend in August. I will post pictures when the work is completed. Most of the parts are ordered - I just have to play the waiting game now! As they come in I will be sure to share pics!

Are you in a position to share the link?

Why are you gonna fill up the holes on the trunk?? Why not put the Genesis wings??

What holes are on the bumper??

Looks good, tho!!

Sounds like he is removing both front and rear badges. I think he just don't like stinkin badges.

I think he just wants the shaved clean look on the car. I think the car will look good with or without an emblem in the rear, so can't go wrong either way.

If there weren't holes after removing the "H" I would've left it clean too, but I'm just going to end up putting the wing on since mine is only a lease, it isn't worth the extra money take it to a shop and patch up the holes, and repaint.

Springs are from a company called Storm. From what Kevin told me there are a reputable KDM company and the drop is supposed to be 1.4 inches in front and 1.2 in the rear. I had to do a custom order so there is no product link. I will post pictures when they arrive and show before and after shots as well. They ran $370 shipped so much better than $1,500 for coilovers.

I am removing both badges and there are holes behind both. I just want a simple and clean look on the car.

badges.... we don't need no stinkin badges....

Interested in the springs as well

Thanks for the info Huddleston. Just some additional info on the lowering springs for those here. They will not affect the drive mode selection (V6 & V8) or continuous dampening suspension (V8). However, those with the AWD need to wait a bit longer. These springs cannot handle the weight and currently research is being done to make one that does. Us AWD owners need to wait a bit longer. :(

what do you think the install cost would be for the springs if you don't do it yourself?

Would love to lower the Genesis by an inch or so.

For springs, I would expect $150-200 (Canadian of course). This would be a shop that normally works on modded cars. A regular mechanic tried to charge me $100 per corner when I asked.

Springs that lower a car should have at least some effect on a computer controlled suspension.

That's what I thought but Storm is stating that they react the same way as OEM. Will have to see what Huddleston comes back with since he will be the first to have these springs.

Are there any good aftermarket struts available for the 2015 like bilsteins?

there are not currently any struts that I am aware of. I have typically done strut/spring combinations on my cars but given the nature of the genesis didn't pursue seeing if any were available. I am sure the OEM struts are fine and I think the car will look like I want with the springs without sacrificing ride comfort and quality too much.

I will be taking plenty of pictures during the installation and I will also review the springs after they are on and settled to let you guys know what to expect.
