If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I couldn't find a post on aftermarket HID lights. One of my HID lights is gone on my 2015 Genesis Sedan 3.8 Ult. I understand it is a D1S model. The dealer wanted to charge $195 for the bulb (this is Canadian$).

The bulb is on the yellowish side so I want to match the original. Does anyone have the OEM info on it and specs? I see on Amazon there are ones that are much less expensive.

any help would be great! :D

Re: 2015 Gen Sedan D1S headlight purchase!!

Have you had your car for a year or 12k miles yet? (Not sure about Canada warranty) I think the bulbs are covered for one year or 12,000 miles in the US. Just a thought.

Re: 2015 Gen Sedan D1S headlight purchase!!

I was gonna say. The car is less than a year old. Even if the headlights were ran 24 hours a day for 365 days it would not reach the minimum life expectancy for an HID bulb (10,000 minimum life and 8,760 hours in a year). Therefore this is definitely a warranty item unless they can prove that external damage caused the failure.

Also, I am moving this to the lighting subsection

P.S. http://www.theretrofitsource.com/ is a great resource and I buy all of my bulbs there.

Another recommendation on TheRetrofitSource, great company, great product.

Just pull up D1S bulbs and you are good to pick whatever Kelvin rating you want.

+1. I have used them for many projects. Awesome company & quality products.

Buy a pair of bulbs in the temperature you want and replace them both. Always do in pairs. $.07
