  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Exterior Lighting Thread

... And you know that your tail lights are on as well when you choose the parking lights, right?

To be brutally honest, I continue to be amazed that people seem to be so bothered by the DRL's that they can't even see? I think the amber lights look fine and they do the job they are supposed to do quite well without following what everyone else is doing. To me, the LED strips/band DRL's are getting old/too trendy already. But that's just me :)

+1 This. When I bought the car, I was originally one of those who was disappointed in the lighting arrangement but as time has passed, I find that not only am I not caring but that seeing every other car out there with LED surround DRLs, I kinda like the bold amber ones. I still would love the KDM dual setup (shown in the banner of this site) but definitely not sinking $2000 in to do so. I'm over the DRLs. In fact I'm over the fog lamps unless someone comes up with a PnP kit that I can install in an hour.

I saw a Genesis turning into a parking lot as I was waiting to exit and saw the amber strip turn signal lights in action... thought they looked very cool! Asked the dealer about it and all the salesmen said they never heard of that... except one who thought the base model came that way.... I guess he was right!
I love my 5.0 but am disappointed in the DRL's.... would prefer the eyelashes were brighter and served as DRL.... you can light them by driving with parking lights on but they really aren't bright enough to function as DRL's. It's a shame that the Sonata has cooler DRL's than the twice as expensive Genesis!

Agree and as predicted, the 2106 models will have the LED DRL's. Would be nice if the 2015's could be retrofitted, but suspect it will be expensive and complicated. Was hoping it could be an easy mod by the dealer, but likely not.

For what it's worth... I pulled up to a valet station the other night and the kid was just so impressed with the lighting set-up... I have the 5.0 so I was running full headlights and fog lights. He couldn't stop talking about how cool the car looked as I pulled up! You should have seen him when we were leaving... I started the car with my phone app. which he thought was very cool but he flipped when he saw the genesis logo puddle lights in action!

All-in-all a good night for Daddy's car-ego! LOL

I get people who try to reach down and TOUCH the damn logo.... or tap it with the foot. No lie. Shit cracks me up. :)
