  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello to all of those on the forum. My earlier post regarding a malfunction with my radar cruise control is but one of an increasing number of problems with my 2015 Genesis. Just hit 5,000 miles.
1. Passenger side power window failed for 2 days - dealer could find no problem. Window operating again.
2. Right rear blindside monitor lit up and warning tone continually sounded for 2 minutes, Tone stopped after 2 minutes. No vehicles behind me and no cross traffic either. Blindside monitor remained lit for 10 minutes, then went off. Then it did not alert of approaching vehicles for about 10 minutes. Then it started working again. Waiting to get dealer appointment.
3. iPhone 6 connection stopped operating, then it started up again, second time
4. Rain sensing wipers started and ran for about 10 minutes, no rain, no water.
5. Previously reported radar cruise control malfunction. Waiting on dealer appointment.
6. Cold water leaked from under the dash and filled the shoe of a front seat passenger on 3 different occasions while driving the car. No rain, no car wash, no standing water. Two passengers have taken the Genesis of their list of prospective vehicles. Waiting on dealer appointment.
7. Very little heat comes from front floor vents. When floor mode is selected via the mode button, the HVAC system auto switches to defrost mode. Another passenger has taken the Genesis of their list because of no heat to the footwell. Dealer claimed HVAC was operating normally and the reason for the almost non-existent warm airflow to the footwell is because the HVAC system has to send heat to too many ducts in the car.

Gentlemen, it appears that I have a bad Genesis. Not too sure about the dealer either.

What is your date of assembly/manufacture (on sticker in driver door jam).

Weird, intermittent electrical problems are often caused by an improperly grounded electrical system. It's very possible that one fix may be all that's necessary to take care of most of your car's electrical troubles.

One word of warning: In the unlikely event that you really do have a lemon, make sure you report the problems as early and as completely as possible to the dealer and make sure you receive complete written descriptions of repair attempts from them when the vehicle is returned to you. If and when you ever have to file a suit it will hinge on the completeness of previous repair attempts.

First thing to do is the Google the lemon laws of your state so you understand what qualifies as a lemon.

Yup! Let's hope the dealer can find the problem so he'll never need them, though. :)

In my case, I put off reporting problems to the dealer at first and only found out later that, in lemon suits, the clock starts for depreciation estimates when the problem is first reported which can affect compensation from the mfr. In MI, every 1000 miles is another percentage point that doesn't need to be paid back to the owner. Depreciation is based on 100k miles so delaying reporting problems can be costly.

Dealer had car for almost 2 days. Was told to pick up my car because they could find nothing wrong nor did they replace any sensors. This will be my first and last Hyundai.
