If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I'm driving into work today and my rear passenger window rolls down - right next to my 2-year old son's car seat. I attempted to roll it back up, but to no avail. I then stopped at work, took a look at the fuses in the manual and went out to my car. The rear window has rolled up about 5 inches. So I start the car and it rolls up about another inch. After about 20 times of shutting the car off and restarting, the window rolls all the way up.

I later went out to see if I could move the window at all, and upon touching the control, it rolls all the way down, and will not come back up. To make matters worse, we're predicting a rather large storm.

The rear driver's side window is functioning intermittently.

Any suggestions?

Not sure what year to have, but on my 2G you can hold the window button up for a few seconds to reset the switch and that usually fixes my window

To reset the power windows
If the power windows do not operate
normally, the automatic power window
system must be reset as follows:
1. Place the Engine Start/Stop button
to the ON position.
2. Close the window and continue
pulling up on the power window
switch for at least one second.
If the power windows do not operate
properly after resetting, have the
system checked by an authorized
HYUNDAI dealer.

2012 Genesis 68K miles: Driver's power window stopped functioning. Tried the above re-set, no luck. Tried pulling the main (green) fuse and re-seating that, no luck. Called Hyundai dealer, made service appt. More later when its out of service. This is the first out of warranty issue Ive experienced

Thanks for this info! In my 2012 4.6, ALL the windows quit working recently. I just tried your reset method of pushing down the button for a second, and it seemed that the switch for the front passenger window did the trick to get them working again.:)

Thanks for this info also, I can confirm that it worked for my rear passenger widnow on a 2016 Genesis.

Considering it is only one window not working it could be the regulator inside the door or a bad relay. When you pulled the fuse out and checked to make sure it is a good fuse did you notice if the terminals were burnt or charred and if so use a small piece of 400 grit sand paper to clean the aluminum terminals until they look shiny and clean. I bought my 2012 3.8 sedan used and it had several electrical problems and shortcomings so I checked one fuse at a time to make sure it was still good and then if the terminals were slightly burnt or charred then I used 400 grit fine sand paper to clean them up and everything worked better and the lights were brighter too.
