If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Problems with Navigation and System Data - Reset or Lost

Re: Computer Info

First this has been reported, sounds like a bug. The only thing that is automatic is the AVG MPG, which resets after you get gas then reach a speed of 1.6MPH.

Re: Computer Info

I have noticed that my car's info such as average speed, hours that the car has been on, etc resets itself every time I turn on the car. The manual states that these items will only reset manually when I hold in the reset button for more than one second. I have not reset ant of the displays manually. Has anyone else had this problem or is there a setting that has the displays resetting themselves automatically?

This happens in my V-6 as well. I hadn't realized that it wasn't just a normal function.

Re: Computer Info

Mine resets once a day
It will total all my driving for the day as long as I use it every hour or so

I notice that on the weekend, if I dont use it for a few hours, then it resets.

I tought it was normal???

Re: Computer Info

I went to the dealer to see if it was a problem. After a days worth of research the repair tech told me that Hyundai informed him that this is normal. The avg speed and elasped time reset themselves after the car is off for two hours or more. He said that Hyundai may do one of two things; reprogram the computer to not reset or send every owner revised pages for the owners manual that states that these two items reset after two hours of inactivity. The latter is most probable.

Re: Computer Info

I sure hope they reprogram this...I have a habit of monitoring my average MPG for each tank of gas. I'd love to be able to manually reset mine at a time of my choosing.

The Average MPG doesnt reset its after 2+ hours of being off. It will reset only when you get Gas or manaully reset it.

Re: Computer Info

The avergae fuel consumption, speed, and elapsed time do not get reset by itself on my 4.6. Could this problem happens only on the 3.8?

Re: Navigation System - lost data

I have had my Genesis for two months now and have had no problems with the nav. system untill last night, I used it yesterday and all was fine but went to add a new address last night and noticed my address book was empty. I did not just fill up the gas tank and no rain. I contacted the dealer and was told this is the first they have ever heard of this issue, has anyone with this problem had the navigation system software update (service campaign T63) done to thier Genesis and if so has it helped?

Re: Computer Info

The resetting of the average speed and elaspe time is on the 3.8 without the navigation system. I'm not sure that it matters what size engine you have, the difference is between having or not having the navigation system. Just to clarify, the mpg does not reset itself, just the two mentioned above.

It happened again. Thursday, I had gone to a destination that I could not get the GPS system to locate so once I was there I tried to set the destination as a favorite (which I was not able to do). When I came out later I tried to pull up "home" in the address book and it was gone. To make matters worse I could not reprogram "home" into the GPS because it could not find the address. Apparently my home address can only be found when the car is sitting in the drive way (I never realized this before).

On my Garmin GPS (I don't have the Tech Package), I don't program in my actual home location, only one that at least 1/2 mile away. The reason for that is if someone stole my car, and told the GPS to go home, they would probably be able to get into my garage and the attached house with the garage door opener.

It appears that I was in too much of a hurry to try and enter the "home" address. The GPS does know where it is. But the address I was going to on Thursday can not be found by the GPS.

Our garage door opener is broken. You have to manually open the door from the inside. Getting it fixed is at the bottom of the twenty page "tomorrow" list that only gets longer and the items on the first page never get done.

If someone did actually get into the garage the alarm would go off.

If my garage door opener was broken, I would need to be put on suicide watch.
