  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The Modified 2015+(DH) Genesis Thread

the original 19 dh wheels are nice. so genesis.

a drop would finish it off. with 420 horses you will be king of the road.
I think someone said that it looked weird with the drop. Can't remember who but they said the wheels seemed to look sunk in. I hope ark makes that .75 inch drop I think that would be perfect

Hmm the other issue with the 20s is how that limits the tire-selection. Tirerack is showing 4 tires that fit.

I said that. I dropped it with the stock 18s and the stock offset makes them look sunk into the car vs flush with the fender. If you look at your stock wheels just imagine them further up in the wheel well. You could probably get hubcentric spacers to push them out a little bit but everyone seems to frown on spacers.

20 inch will also affect ride quality. no ifs ands or buts.

19 inch is a nice medium IMO

for 20 u can run 245 35 20 275 30 20 set up, which is cheaper than 19 tire set up

I thought it was you lol. Idk I would hate to get rims before I use up those continentals

Yup! My stock tires are brand spanking new. I told myself I'd wait but I had no restraint. Now I have brand new tires just sitting there in my garage in black bags.

I've been spending a lot of time on the ElementWheels site, but a lot of their tires seem to be lower tier tires, and I haven't been able to determine if they offer a road-hazard warranty.

I think I'll end up having to order the wheels from ElementWheels and order the tires from somewhere else.

My top tire choices are the BFGoodrich G-Force COMP-2 A/S and the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06. These are both Ultra High Performance All-Season tires. Although I live in the Houston area, I still want all season tires and my most important characteristics are (roughly in order):
1. Wet weather handling
2. Hydroplaning resistance
3. Noise
4. ride quality
5. dry weather handling (not that this isn't important, but it's not as important as the other items)
6. Some ice/snow capability, as while it generally doesn't snow in Houston often, it does in other parts of Texas.

With that in mind, I'm probably going with the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06, but then the challenge becomes Tirerack (and other sites) don't show the tire available in 255/35/20 and 285/30/20. The Continental site however, does have the tire in those sizes (front|front/rear) despite not showing up on most retail sites, so it's just a question of finding out which retailer will let me special order them.

Ok so I got the MGP caliper covers as a XMAS gift. I finally put them on the car. While I don't think they look bad and they are a decent product I think they would look better on a white or black car. I also dont know how good they would look on after-market wheels that expose more of the calipers and rotors.

I think they look good! I don't agree that they'd look better on a black or white car. I think on your color or on white or black, they would and do stand out, as they are designed to do. Now perhaps that's not exactly what you're looking for, in which case I'd say you're screwed, because if that was a present from your SO (not stated but easy to guess), then you're pretty much stuck rolling with them either way :D.

In for pics!! How is the ride with the conti's? I'm running nitto 555's with a similar set up and they ride well but transmit a good amount of noise.

Cakewalk thanks! Where did you buy your Continentals in that size?

Carid has the continentals and tires you want...I tried adding link but it wont let me show cart. Only difference in rims is that they only have 20x8.5 front not 20x9. Which might keep it from rubbing. I tried to bring this point up when newegg said his 9's was rubbing at the front.

I guess you haven't got your springs yet? Also how does it feel with just the 20's on there? I LOVE those rims. I'll shoot for that when I wear my tires up.

I went with the continental DWS06 after checking out the reviews on tirerack. They are really quite, low ride noise, I would say even less than stock. Purchased them from a local tire shop in Redlands, California. $1100 for the set, mounted, balanced, envo fee and tax.

Yeah, no rubbing. I too was little worried after reading all of the threads but it all worked out. Huddlestons info is right on.

For the wheels I went with Niche Misano.

Oh yeah, its Parisian Grey

I actually have grown to like the amber DRLS:

What I don't like is the flicker, but I think I found someone to fix that.

Hi Aquineas,

I saw your post about KDM headlight and how it only gives you amber LED strips pretty long ago, but wasn't able to locate that thread.

I don't know if you are still interested, but I've found someone that had his genesis bought in the states exported to Korea, then installed KDM 4 eye headlights.

According to the shop that installed the KDM headlights, they had to not only change the headlight itself but also had to change BCM Box(I don't know much about cars, so I have no idea what this is, but it seams to be something that is behind the fuse box).

For your reference, below is the link that I've got the information. It is in Korean, so I suggest you use google translate.

Also, according to some trust able source, the new genesis G80 would have the new LED headlights which would fit in the 2G genesis, but only with the front bumper changed.
