  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

100k mile club?

2 1/2 years ago i posted mine here at 85k
now i just hit 140k (still no issue)
hope mine hit 200k in next 2years and post it again

2013 3.8 Premium 99851 miles, just completed oil change this morning, running Mobil 1 5w-20. I'm gonna drive this car till my 11 year old needs it.

Pushing 80k this week. Running about 25k per year in my job. I have warranty to 125k. Plan to do at least 150 and if everything holds up might be brave and go for 200. Just depends on how it holds together. If and when it becomes unreliable it'll be time to go. Problem is it won't be worth squat when I get rid of it. Might have to donate it to the kidney foundation.

Lessee, now. I have 30K miles after 4 years, so look for me in another 10 years or so.

I have 16K after 4.5 years sooooooo look for me in about 28 years. Oh, wait.....I'll be celebrating my 100th birthday by then.

Well, I did tell my wife that the Genny would be my last new car.

I have three boys each one of whom would like to get their hands on it though.

2013 3.8 - 105K New to me! Had very detailed service history. Previous cars were one owner high mileage LS400s. Excited to try something new. This car feels very solid no sqeaks of rattles. Looking forward to many years of solid reliability.

Approx 118k miles on my baby. UHUGU! I want to park her and give her a rest. :(

man, you guys are all doing great.
2009 4.6 here. Just hit 97k miles and had a valve spring snap, dropping the valve into the cylinder and creating a huge tear down/repair situation just before being able to join this "club". Someday....maybe....

105,000 miles now on my 2012 4.6. Seem to be running about the same as always, although I need to change the plugs. The power windows are "glitchy" in that once in a while they won't work right, but later work just fine.

Does the auto down/up feature seem to go out every once in awhile? If so, try pressing your driver side button twice in a row, like double clicking a computer mouse, and it should start working. I think that is how you can turn on the auto up/down feature.

Thanks. Yes, I think I found that out one time but I forgot the exact procedure. My wife now drives the Genesis and I'm not sure exactly what sometimes happens with it, but I'll check it out to make sure it's working right.

Im at 105k. Still runs great other than the random misfire on start-up every once in a while. cant find a fix for that

My wife's 2010 V8 just turned 100k this week. Done all the required maintenance. Trans fluid flush, coolant and plugs at 80k. The usual oil changes tires and only one replacement battery. Living in FL, I am thankful the battery is in the trunk and away from the heat under the hood. Brakes are still factory original which is amazing. We have had it since 10k and its been almost completely trouble free. Best car we have ever owned. Just purchased my wife replacement - a 2015 3.8 with 12k a few weeks ago. Our 23yr old is going to itinerant the 2010. Its not worth crap so rather than giving it away, it should give him a good few years until he can afford something more appropriate for a young single male.

137067 today :(

Just an update, the car just turned 110k. Since my son is orlando, when he was home for the holidays I did a bit of proactive maintenance. In addition to the scheduled oil change, I changed the rear diff fluid with Mobile 1 synthetic. Simple job - took about 1 1/2 qtrs. Since I had never replaced the brakes, I also had ordered new pads. I had quickly examined the rotors at the last tire rotation, and seeing some info on the lack of rotor wear) and decided they likely didnt need replacement. I ordered ceramic pads from Autozone with lifetime warranty (have used these pads on others with excellent results).

A few observations on the brake work. 1. The rotors looked like they were just mounted at the factory. They were near perfect -no rust, not a single nick, grove or rust. Measured them and they showed almost zero thickness wear. Amazing 2. When replacing the pads, the OEM pads still likely had another 30k miles+ on them but replaced anyway. 3. The pad replacement was the simplest brake work I have ever done. The twin piston caliber allows the pads to simply slide out without having to remove the caliper. Remove two pins and the spring that holds the pads in the correct in place and they simply slide out. I did both sides in less than 1hr, including cleanup.

Have to wonder if my wife's "new" will hold up as well.

My brakes on the front went to about 130,000 miles and I had dealer put on new oem pads. When i traded the Genesis 4.6 at about 212,000 miles the second set of brakes still had 30 to 50 k left on the pads. At 212,000 miles the rear diff. developed a lot of lash (no noise at other times) when going into gear first thing or going to reverse and back so that's why we traded the Genny. It was the best car we ever owned. At 212,000 it still used no oil and the transmission shifted like new.

I have a 2012 3.8 genisis with tech package. I just crossed 109k. I have used a synthetic oil blend since the beginning. Car run great. Very few issues have come up over the years I have had the car. Battery went bad after I left the trunk unlocked for a week while away on business. Had to have it replaced, along with 2 key fobs. I got my first engine light today. Taking it to service today.

2009 3.8 Tech package here. 114,000 miles, had to replace rear camera and some minor suspension work I suppose is normal. I have done routine maintenance, changed plugs, brake pads on front but that's any car. Runs great, dreaming of a new one someday.
Everything is solid, quiet and comfortable still.

2013 5.0 RSpec 97,000 miles to date. Replaced transmission at 80,000, 2 bad proximity sensors, misfire at startup about once every 6 months. Also, clear paint on bottom rocker panels both sides peeled off and I paid to have repainted. I drive about 1900 miles a month in heavy traffic so I'm constantly accelerating and braking. I'm pretty easy on the car and do full throttle acceleration rarely. Pretty happy so far other than the tranny but I plan on keeping the car at least 3 more years ~160,000

2012 Non R-Spec 5.0 with 102,105, runs great. Up until about 2 months ago, I was planning on trading it in for a 14 RSpec with super low mileage, but the dealer was an a*****e and tried to low-ball me. Even more recently, I've noticed that the trans occasionally shifts a bit hard on the 1~2 and the 4~5 upshift when driving very conservatively. (under very mild acceleration) I had the trans flushed/filled at the dealership, but it occasionally still shifts a bit hard. Under heavier throttle it will shift normal.
I've been reading about other owners that have reported tranny issues/subsequent replacement and I must admit that I'm a bit worried since the car is now out of warranty. Either way, I plan on keeping the car as long as it remains reliable. It's been an absolute blast to drive and quite possibly one of the most under-estimated sedans out there.
