  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Illinois says my Genesis is a Hyundai

Mc C is either an English Major, or a corporate mole. Perhaps both. Neither, however, make him/her a bad person. However, it does come across as petty when he insists on telling others how to construct their sentences and vocabulary.

Most (if you'll excuse the expression) of us here want Genesis and Hyundai to succeed. Many of us are current, or retired, managers and executives who know something about running a business and making a profit. Many of us members can also sniff the wind and sense when some aspect of a business is floundering. It's our obligation to tell Hyundai/Genesis straight up when we think they are wandering in the weeds regarding vehicle salesyounRe and customer satisfaction.

I certainly agree that I think most if not all of us want Genesis to succeed. You are also welcome to say whatever you want that will help them to do so. Me too. As I have said many times before, when someone presents something as a fact when they are not facts, I will point it out. That is my right also. I certainly don’t think Genesis has done everything right. However unlike Mark_888 who leaps to point this out, I don’t think they have dont everything wrong. Most of the time we all can say what we think and present the facts.

Now i hope you sniff the wind in business better than you do with me. My doctorate is in hard science, not even close to liberal arts. Just goes to show you that things are not always what you assume or conclude or deduce.

I don’t know what or whose post you are reading but I would never presume to tell anyone how to write or speak.

Again this series of posts started with Mark_888 stating (actually accusing me) that I called a journalist quote of Genesis management as speculation. I said I would not and did not do such a thing and Mark_888 could not respond with any specific (although I am sure he tried hard to) posts where I said that. If we had stuck to this point we would have settled this many posts ago. Instead he just said they are everywhere and changed the subject to my bias. I do believe Mark_888 has lost any sense of perspective regarding Genesis but he his welcome to his opinion. As I have said before Mark_888 does know his technical stuff in particular with older Genesis cars.

Well, here are the hard cold facts:

1. You disputed my claim that they could have continued to sell Genesis motors Vehicles at existing Hyudnai Dealersips. You claimed that was speculation on my part, which I find to be absolutely incredible, and you offer no evidence to support the idea they are being forced to create new dedicated dealerships (other than a decision by Hyundai or Genesis management). Here is you post:
Illinois says my Genesis is a Hyundai

2. When someone quoted a Genesis Motors employee as saying that the Genesis brand will not be officially rolled out until the 2019 model year (an absurd claim by Genesis Motors to cover up their blunders with regard to only having 100 dealers planned), you claimed it was dealer employee who said that, when it was clearly stated that it was a Genesis Motors employee ("K. Smith at Genesis America").
Here is the link for the posts I am talking about:
Illinois says my Genesis is a Hyundai

3. On numerous occasions, when I pointed out how poorly the Genesis Motors rollout has been done in the USA, such that many members are reporting that their 2017-2018 Genesis is being titled by their state as a Hyundai, you claimed that was speculation on my part, even though the head of Genesis Motors admitted that they did not understand the complexities of rolling out a new brand in the USA, and they made mistakes because of that.

4. Almost every time the Genesis Motors brand rollout FUBAR's are pointed out, you claim that such criticisms are speculation and state there is some reason we don't know about as to why they did things that way, even when the global head of Genesis brand admitted that some things were "overlooked."

It makes no sense to try and have a discussion with someone who cannot even consider the possibility that they could be wrong. Your mind is closed, no sense reviewing the facts unless its for your entertainment which I am not interested in doing.

So then, if we have any Genesis folks reading this stuff ( I hope they are) what are you going to do? Are you going to fix vin problem or are you going to give rebates to us all?[/QUOTE[/QUO

Don't lay your problems with Mark on me, Doc.

No, my mind is not closed. The problem is that every time you disagree with my criticisms of Genesis Motors, especially on the issue of this thread, you accuse me of "speculation," and want me to admit that I am wrong, without any valid arguments for me to do recant my statements.

If you offer valid reasons for me to recant, I will do so.

Gee I can keep repeating the same responses just like you.

What are you talking about? Sure, everyone can be wrong about anything. So what?

If you want to read stuff that is wrong, go read the very long threads in this forum which discuss which color Genesis is the fastest (those people are not kidding).

If you think I am wrong about some specific point I raised, let me know why, and if I agree I was wrong I will recant (which I have done before, despite what you say).

But merely saying that I am wrong, because I will not consider the possibility that I am wrong, does not provide me enough information to rethink and/or recant what I said. More specific information is need on exactly why I was wrong (and not just keep repeating the claim that I am closed minded).

I really wish Mcc and Mark_888 would get past their own egos and stop feeding each other's trolls. This constant thread crapping with childish bickering is distracting and tiring.

this is a dick measure contest through and through. if it weren't, they would take it to private messages. but both parties want everyone to eventually agree that they were right. nobody cares.

Many have. But there are those who have ears and cannot hear. No, you got this wrong; it's vanity and pride which doesn't allow you recant. How can you comment effectively and with truth if you're always at odds with another? You've already admitted you don't own and never have owned a Genesis. So how in the name of what's right, can you profess to know how they're registered by each and every state? You don't have a Genesis registration to speak from experience. I can because I actually own a Genesis. However, I can only accurate speak about what I own.

Just to be clear, I do own a Hyundai Genesis. Interestingly, some people at Genesis Motors have "apparently" recently said that Genesis Motors is not officially launched as brand until the 2019 model year. But I believe that was said so they could claim that they were not taking away the right to sell Genesis Motors vehicles from most existing most dealers when they wanted to restrict the number of dealers to 100 (a restriction which they have apparently abandoned).

I never professed to know how G80's and G90's are registered in every state. But if you read this thread (and other threads like it), a fair number of forum members have said that their G80 or G90 was registered as a Hyundai. I believe them. Are you saying they are lying?

Pretty funny. He can only speak accurately because he owns a G80. Hahaha!

This post has evolved and mostly devolved from the original statement: "Illinois says my Genesis is a Hyundai"
I have attached the definitive documents from the lease of my 2018 G80 Sport.
Conclusion: South Carolina DMV, Jim Hudson Hyundai, and Genesis Finance say my car is a Hyundai.
My insurance company, State Farm, says it is a Genesis.
After multiple conversations with a representative of Genesis Motors, USA they definitively state that a Genesis leased or financed by Genesis Finance as a subsidiary of Hyundai Capital America will be designated a Hyundai, Model (Genesis G80). She could not speak to whether or not if the vehicle is leased or financed through 3rd party financing how they would designate the vehicle.
Those who which to continue this debate, please, be my guest. This is resolved. Not necessarily to my satisfaction, but, resolved nonetheless. IMG_20180502_164107294.webpIMG_20180502_164134785.webpIMG_20180502_164145689.webpIMG_20180502_214609615.webp

Hahaha! What you call the "art of doing business," most call FUBAR.
I don't but then I'm only one voice. Maybe it would be better to stick with what you know, than presuming the prior.

Why are you closing this thread?
He doesn't have authority to close it himself. He just added that graphic to his post (one of the smile options).

Not that I would mind if it is closed by the moderator.
