  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Overall i love this car and do not regret making this decision at all when it comes to picking the G70 over the german cars i looked at.

My biggest issues so far are

Fuel economy on Sport Mode is really bad, i mean really bad but you should only drive in this mode when you are ready to rock and roll so fuel probably wont be a concern but compared to previous cars in sport modes this has sub par fuel economy. Even Comfort is not good on fuel but eco is pretty good so i either drive in Sport or Eco.

My only other con is that i am starting to see a bit of wear on the outside seat bolster for my left leg/hip on the driver side. I am about 230lbs so a little heavy lol but i should not see wear this early on the leather bolster.

I do have a couple small gripes that i included on my youtube vids but those are just normal little wishes i would have liked

Everyone that sees the car loves it and the performance in Sport Mode is insane, if you have not test driven yet you should do so, if you have any questions let me know
what is your youtube channel, i would love to see the car! thanks

Then get used to poor mileage. I make a 2 mile trip on occasion, 2 or 3 times a week. When cold, temperature near freezing, I get 9 mpg. On the return, after a bit of warm up, I get 12 mpg for the return. In warmer weather I get 12 mpg on the first let and 16 on the return. Longer trips around town gets 18 to 20 mpg. I just stopped for the day after 500 miles and with both high speed and traffic jams I got 25.2.
hey your from Connecticut ??

Wanted to follow up after quite a bit of driving in the last few days. I managed 9L/KM after quite a bit of driving today.

That is impressive for an entire tank! I decided to try this morning on the way to work to see how low I could get. 44km drive I averaged 8.5L/100km. I was at 15.5 when I finished my residential and merged onto the freeway, and from while on the freeway and highway, I had cruise set at 98 in an 80 zone and 118 in a 100 which was most of the drive. For those stretches I left the car in Eco and just used the cruise so no heavy acceleration. I was at 8.3 when I got off the highway, but then moved up the last bit driving up to work. And the car just hit 1000km so still pretty new.

If you have restraint these cars aren't bad considering the engine. I am expecting to average around 10L/100km with my mix of driving and that isn't bad imo.

US gas prices just hit a 4-year high today, so mileage is more relevant than ever. But 10L/100km seems pretty good to me. I do less highway driving than you describe but still, that's reasonable mileage.

my average is 8.9km/L. I've droven about 3000km now

do you guys see some kind of interior ambient lights at night?
No lighting at all... very disappointed with the night driving as i am a huge fan of the c-class mercedes interior lighting but the G70 has some white light at your feet but that is it... not even any lighting in the center/dash console where you put your phone..

Hey Guys,

New Poster here, I'm also an leaser of a recently new Himalayan Grey G70...and it's stuck in the dealer right now (Check Engine Light)..

So far Genesis' service team has been helpful and I hope it's not too much of an issue (hopefully a loosened gas cap). It's been driven about 300km so far with about 10L-12/100Km on Eco Mode.

Pics below!

Congrats!

You might be the first person to have a G70 in for service lol

It will be interesting as these cars are out for a bit to see/hear 1. what kinds of things people have issues/warranty work for and 2. how the valet service is.

Hopefully you have the car back soon!

What about lane keep assist? Can it hold the car in the middle of the lane or it bounces back and forth

Thanks! I hope it'll be the first for a very long while. On the topic of valet service, it's been excellent. No issues so far and they've actually arrived early to pick it up.

Haven't really used Lane Keep Assist that often so can't really comment on that.

It holds it fairely tight, but don't plan on hands free driving like a Tesla. If you take your hands off the wheel for even a fairly short time (maybe 30 seconds) it sounds an alarm cancels the LKAS and the cruise control. I think of it more as a safety device should I fall asleep or pass out than an assistant driver.

I am pretty sure there is a setting you can change where it will hold the lane keep assist longer, there are 3 different settings and the default is the middle setting cant remember the names
