  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Early Owner Feedback

Yes, both in my present and last Genesis. Not all that close but something sets it off. In another thread someone said it was worse behind particular cars but I don't recall which ones.

I wonder if exhaust fumes from the car ahead can set it off under certain conditions, such as high moisture content from a cold engine.

Funny, I was just commenting on this in the G90 forum. I have no idea what sets it off. It’s almost always the front sensors, though.

I find.having a Tesla in front or beside me almost always sets the sensor off. But it’s not just Teslas.

Interesting, I haven't noticed that before but will keep an eye out for it. My Jeep also has front sensors and I have never noticed that either.

Any chance you guys are all assholes and just pull up way too close to the vehicle in front of you at intersections? :p:p;)

How often do you pull up in back of Teslas?

Oddly enough just this past Sunday I was driving with a buddy who has a P90D and they didn't go off and I was behind him most of the time. Then we switched vehicles and he was behind/beside me while I drove the Tesla and he never mentioned a sensor going off. We were comparing lane centering and acceleration and unfortunately his car makes the G70 feel very slow. :)

A P90D makes 99% of the cars on the road feel slow, so that's not really a fair comparison

Don't get me wrong, I know. Even with the money I am not sure I would buy one, but it is funny after doing 4 ludicrous launches how the G70 acceleration feels like a Buick lol

Is that a pro or con i have never driven a buick

He’s saying the G70 feels incredibly slow and sluggish compared to the Tesla.

The P90D definitely accelerates much faster than the G70 but the G70 is technically faster as the P90D goes to 250 km/h and the G70 goes to 270 km/h. :geek:

I don't think I will ever test that one though...

And to be honest I think I have only driven one Buick ever... I think a Regal as a rental like 10 years ago... I was just trying to say the G70 felt slow. Although leaving out the Model S, the acceleration and lack of turbo lag is still one of my favorite parts of the G70. So much power from right off idle it is great as a daily driver. I like how even keeping revs under 2000rpm you can keep up with most cars in traffic :)

I just went on a test drive in a G70 Sport this morning and we got stopped by a random person because he was blown away from the look of the car! The car definitely turns heads. :)

Some of the things i have learned about my own personal car preference after owning the G70

1. I will always want a 360 camera--- me personally I am always worried about hitting my front bumper on parking blocks/curbs.... no more !! LoL

2. I dont need a 4 second car--- i always wanted a super fast car and have always tried to get one (rs3,atsv,ttrs,m4) buy stretching my budget and sacrificing AWD, but as i have now learned, the speed, acceleration, responsiveness of the G70 is all i can use.

3. I like a feature rich car- all the safety features and HUD make driving much easier and i will want these in my cars going forward.

Honestly the only things missing on the G70 that is stopping me from keeping this car forever is led door sills, snap crackle pop or a deep growly exhaust with adjustment so i can choose loud or quiet and multi colour interior ambeint lighting.

Glad you are loving your G70, Dex! We will have to do a YEG G70 meet sometime this summer!

This has happened in all of my Genesis sedans with parking sensors. I'm almost certain that it is interference from traffic signal controlled intersections where the sensors are installed in the pavement. I noticed it beeps for 2-3 seconds and stops just as the light changes. It's a great predictor of when the light is about to change.

That is interesting as the light leaving my neighborhood has those sensors in the ground and as I leave before 7am in the morning and there typically is never anyone at the light I almost always end up on the sensor. Never had anything beep at me though. I have been trying to get close to other vehicles since reading this here as well but haven't noticed it yet.
