  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What things don't you like in the G70?

I agree with you on every one of those except the sensor keyless entry, i found in winter when wearing certain gloves some cars dont pick up the hand right away but you are right , i would gladly pay $1500 bucks more for some ambeint lighting and led turn signals as well as a larger widscreen nav setup
Fortunately I haven't noticed that before. I think my biggest issue is the greasy finger prints all over that button from having to hit it so often. Maybe I should always wear gloves.. lol

As for making all these changes for the second model year, hopefully they wait until at least a mid-cycle refresh so for 2021 or 2022... right when I will be looking for an upgrade again. (y)

Is it viable to mod ambient lighting in a car? Could you even control when it turns on or to show different colors?

And this isn't exactly something I dislike in the G70, but a virtual cockpit like Audi or newer Mercedes could be nice. The analog gauges in the G70 have a nice appeal of their own, but I think in a few years the different features in a virtual cockpit could be really cool. Like the difference it makes to the look of maps is already significant, and maybe it could have implications with 360 cameras during driving, smart phone integration, or something.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Hold the Adaptive Cruise Control Distance button for a few seconds to disable Adaptive (Smart) mode. It will say "Cruise Control" instead of "Smart Cruise Control".

Thanks!

As an owner of a 2.0T Prestige:

- acceleration from a stop is anemic. Shows up mostly when trying to make left hand turns through traffic gaps.

This is troubling. Is this in all drive modes?

Ambeint lighting can defintly be added and there is an amazing video on youtube of a korean car with it done.... but at what cost lol

A test drive will tell you if it is anemic in less than 10 seconds.

It is also a matter of opinion. If your last car was a 1986 Fiat, your opinion will differ from a driver with a Roush Mustang. The 0 to 60 times I've seen were pretty impressive, but, take the test drive and see for yourself.

I don't have anything to dislike yet at about 4500kms. I do have to replace my windshield due to a stone I caught on the highway, but that is not the cars fault.

Lucky it didn't launch into your grill or hood, etc.

Totally agree. My first test drive was of the 2.0T and I was impressed, it felt like it had a lot of power compared to what I was coming from (a Saab 2.0T). Of course when I tried the 3.3T it was even better.

The butt dyno is all that really matters ...

I would tend to agree, I feel my 2.0T gives me enough power/acceleration for everyday driving. I am coming from a 2015 TLX SH-AWD and the 2.0t is a much much better drive.

For the guy getting an anemic feel turning left - is it spinning a rear wheel under hard acceleration? Maybe TCS intervention bogging down the car?

No tire spinning. Kind of the opposite.

Right, the traction control will stop the spin but it does it at times by slowing the engine power. You may accelerate faster by using a lighter pedal touch.

The computer does not know you are trying to make a fast left, it just knows a tire is about to break free and slip, same as if you are on snow. I've had that happen a couple of times.

That's interesting. I'll give it a shot, but it seems weird for a sports car to slow down when you press hard on a gas pedal.

Turn off traction control

Not a sports car, by any stretch. But even in many sports cars that have traction control, what people have described can happen. The system senses the imminent loss of traction and dials back the engine. Even in my Infiniti QX50 crossover, I often disable traction control if I know I'll want to make some brisk turns from a stop because otherwise the traction control will slow me down. Traction control is great if road conditions are poor (e.g., rain, snow, dust, etc.). But on a clean, smooth road, it isn't really necessary and can occasionally out-smart itself.

Agree with your first paragraph, but disagree with your last. 0 to 60 times are not always a good indicator of throttle delay or lag.

I know because I have an Audi S5 with a rated 4.4 sec 0 to 60. But if you drive it in D mode instead of S, it has throttle lag that is very annoying.

As I said . . . The test drive is what counts. I don't like ECO mode because of the throttle response.

For me, the only things that would bother me are the lack of ambient lighting and the rear turn indicator not being LED...

You can buy LED kits online and install them yourself. I've been looking at this myself because I do not want no ambient lighting. So I would buy a set, attach the LED tubes in the top of the driver and passenger footwells, and possibly even under the driver and passenger seats to provide depth color for the back too... run the wires under trim pieces to a central box in the glove box and then direct wire the box to possibly the ignition switch in the fuse box (this way whenever the ignition is on, the lights will have power).

For the rear turn LEDs, that is the most disappointing thing about this car in my eyes. Does anybody have any experience with changing them out and adding LEDs instead?

As long as you test drive in all of the drive modes and not just the most aggressive Sports mode.
