  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This is the best place to ask questions and get answers about the JB4 tune for Genesis cars. The JB4 works with both the 2.0T and 3.3TT engines. Please start a new topic for your question - or reply to another topic if your question is already being discussed.

Thank you!

Mine will be installed next week...can't wait to see how it pulls! :p

Let's talk about air-ride alternatives. Do you need some kind of ECU override or something of the likes when replacing air struts to coilovers??

You'll want to ask this question in the suspension section. This discussion is about the JB4 tune - which does not alter the car's suspension in any way.

What are the changes possible on the 2.0T?

@Terry @ BMS, do we have any good information for enhancements with the 2.0T?

Ok....everything hooked up, connected via Bluetooth, updated firmware first, took it for a spin map1 for 5 min. then switched to map2 ;) I got a full tank of gas 93 octane. All runs smooth like a butter.
~45 miles driving home from the shop was fun! :alright:

Now don't go getting yourself into trouble. :p That could prove difficult...

I'll have the car on dyno on 4th this week. I've never done this before, any tips would be appreciated, like setting, which map to run, etc.?

I'll have 3 runs, though.

Anyone installed in the 3.3T G70 yet? Love to hear real-world impressions ...

Ok, finally..... here are some numbers, car is stock, except the spark plugs. Recommended by Terry, I changed them to Denso 5346 and the car runs on 93 octane.

1st. pull was without the tune, so it was bone stock

2nd. pull - Map1

3rd. pull - Map2

All 3 pulls were in "Sport Mode" ....the car pulls like crazy now, a ~100tq more means something! lol

Nice!! You've got some huge mid-range gains. I bet it feels a ton more powerful on the road.

Also, the G80 Sport looks really good in red.

Thanks for sharing!!

So under your car spec...you have 382 HP and 462 torque.

Stock is 365HP and 376 lb.ft

So are you saying that the JB4 is only giving you less than 20 HP...and only 86 torque?

If that is correct...not really impressed sad to say.

If I read the chart correctly, those are the differences in peak numbers. It looks like across most of the power band, the horsepower difference is at least 40. And more for torque. So you have more usable power for much of the driving range.

Well...I guess it is all very confusing.

The JB4 advert on the main page states "440 horsepower and 520 pound feet of torque – at the wheels".

On the actual JB4 purchase page...under Features and Benefits...it states "Power gains of up to 100hp and 100tq to the wheels on a stock vehicle" which would be 482 hp and 476 torque.

So what are the official numbers that one should expect ?

Well, as you can see in my dyno runs, power in underrated compared to what Genesis says 365hp/ 376tq (it could by dyno "error") lets assume those numbers in 1st run 357/361 are the real time numbers, so we gain 25hp/101tq, with Map2, suggested for 93+ octane fuel, which I have in my fuel tank.

Scroll down to see their dyno runs with different fuel/settings.

Map guide as of v3 firmware (selected via JB4 Mobile/laptop interface. Map1 is the default map)

Map 0: JB4 disabled
Map 1: 4psi over stock peak tapering to 2.5psi at high RPM. Default performance map suitable for all 91+ octane fuels.
Map 2: 5psi over stock tapering to 4psi at high RPM. Suggested for 93+ octane fuel.
Map 3: 6psi stock tapering to 5psi at high RPM. Suggested for high quality fuel including unleaded race gas, ethanol mixtures up to 30%, or high quality octane booster like Torco or Boostane.
Map 4: Valet map, runs around half as much boost as stock.
Map 5: Up to 7psi over stock. Suggested for unleaded race fuel or E85 mixtures up to 30%.
Map 6: User adjustable map. Enter value of boost over stock by RPM on user adjustment page.
Map 7: Currently set to the same settings as map5. Stronger map coming here in a future update.

Manufactures state the HP at the crank and not HP at the wheels right? On a dyno, you are measuring the WHP which includes the ~15% drivetrain loss.

That's what I though, so w/o loss say ~10%, it would be at 420hp/502tq at the crank.

Like I stated before, I'm far away from being a knowledgeable person in this area. Someone perhaps will chime in and explain those numbers from my dyno chart.
