  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

Until they get all of the legal issues done with their new franchising I would imagine availability will be spotty at best. I was hoping to be able to test drive and decide by now but realistically it probably will be early next year. I don't think they were anticipating the lawsuits/state legal issues. I'm hoping they will be able to recover from this and it will just be a blip and part of their growing pains.

Exactly. Per the GM at the local Genesis dealership to me, he said they did not do their homework when it came to US laws and car dealerships. Kind of something big to miss, but it is what it is at this point.

I just got a call from Burns Genesis (listed on Cars.com). They got three shipments today. They said that they were notified that they should be getting shipments in two weeks but three shipments arrived unexpectedly today and that the rest of the shipments should be coming in any time now. They said that these cars are immediately for sale, and that I could come and test drive whenever I want.
The shipments are as follows:
2.0 T Advanced AWD
3.3T Prestige
3.3T Sport

They say that other dealers should be getting the cars too, but the reason they got the shipments so fast is because they are located close to the port. It seems that NJ may be one of the first states to launch! I live in NJ so things are looking good.

And here I was excited that FedEx delivered my G70 brochure today! 🤓

Nice! Are you going to take a look? If so, keep us updated!

I'm waiting on the 2.0 Elite. So I am not going to go in for those trims sadly.

Not even for a test drive in a slightly different trim?? 😁

I might go and do a test drive this weekend. Would be easier if it was a weekday but there's just too much work to play hookie. Unfortunate that they don't have any allocations of 3.3T advanced on cars.com but the prestige will do for now

I received the same email from them saying that they got 3 out of 20 plus G70's for a test drive. I wish I can test drive them right away but I live 86 miles away from them so I'm planning to visit them next saturday :cautious:. BTW first post here.

They posted pictures for the ones listed on cars.com and the G70 sure does look real nice. The wait just might be worth it. I noticed one of the sport models have different type of rims I had originally thought there was only one specific type of rims for the sport model.

They mislabeled it, that blue one is a prestige. They have the 20 spoke rims I believe. Only the sport models have the 5 spoke rims.

I am kind of glad they don't have the trim and color I want, I can benefit from waiting a few more months.

Edit: both 3.3T trim models have more than 40 miles on the odo already. Wouldn't want to purchase cars with that many miles already...

One of them is the Prestige. As I noted above, they have one 2.0 Advanced, one Prestige, and one Sport. It is mislabeled on cars.com. The one with the five-spoke wheels is the Sport.

The blue one has to be a 2.0 Prestige. Slight upgrade to Dynamic and you get the better looking 10 spoke wheels. All 3.3 Prestige also get the 10-spokers.

The blue is the 3.3 prestige. White is the 2.0 advanced. Red is the 3.3 sport.

Those wheels and seats are confusing the hell out of me. Regarding the blue one... I would expect the prestige to have those seats... and the 10 spoke wheels that it clearly doesn't have. I'd expect the lower trims to have those wheels but not the seats. These pictures make me more concerned than excited right now.

@Pfohobear is right, the blue one is a 3.3T Prestige! I judged it as 2.0T strictly by the wheels and didn't see the 3.3T emblem in the pics.

That's not good!!! Genesis previously stated that ALL of the 3.3T trims would have the 19" wheels. There are only 3 wheels for the G70:
- 20 spoke 18" low trim level
- 10 spoke 19" high trim level
- 5 spoke 19" Sport wheel

Many posts ago, I noted that AlexOnAutos had a 3.3T Prestige (he called it top spec) for his test car with these 20 spoke wheels. At the time, I expected this was due to the cars not being official spec for track day and maybe a shortage of the 10-spoke wheels... CRAP! Then what trim level will get the 10-spokers if even the 3.3T Prestige doesn't have it??? In Canada, only the 2.0T Prestige got the 10-spokers. This really botches my purchase plans if the 3.3T has these 20-spoke wheels!!

It could be that the AWD model gets the 18" wheels for symmetry reasons (19's have staggered sizing; narrow front, wide rear) and the RWD will get the 19's. I sure hope so! o_O

If only there was some way you could use a web browser to try out different configurations and see what they look like. That sounds like it would be really convenient for potential buyers, Genesis should think about trying that out.

Genesis has never stated that.

The blue car is a 3.3T Prestige because it has Surround-view monitor (SVM) and the Nappa leather seating surfaces with luxury quilting. That is the only 3.3T model with those features. Maybe as said before the AWD models gets 18"wheels with All Season tires?

That would suck if it's true. I want AWD here in chicago. I also want the 10 spoke which I know look amazing because I saw them in person in Canada on their Prestige trim.

Lived in Chicago for 3 years and the 18s might be better with how bad the roads are. I had an Infiniti G37X and by the end of my lease, that thing felt/sounded hollow with the beating it took there.

I'm with you though I'd like the 10-spoke with the AWD Sport, the 5-spoke just don't do anything for me and I've already got dark grey wheels on my IS350 F-Sport and they always look dirty.
