  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

Maybe I better stop emailing them or I’ll get their special “California price.” 💰💰💰💰

I look at it as the equivalent of “European Delivery” except it’s still in the US.

The sales guy I was talking to made it sound like they wouldn’t sell out of state, because you can’t title it yet in Cali until they recognize the brand. Could be full of shit but that’s what he said

Asking for those who have seen the color in person. Can’t decide if I like the Mallorca blue or Adriatic blue better (saw Adriatic on a g80 sitting around). Any thoughts on the two colors?

Yes, he is full of it. Whether the brand sells in a state has nothing to do with whether they can be titled. He may not want to sell out of state since there can be extra work with taxes, titleing, etc.

Comes down to personal preference. I have the Adriatic on my G80 I'd not buy the Mallorca, but I'd not buy coffee ice cream either. They make those things because others do like them.

I just called my company to get an idea for the G80 Sport versus my 2008 TL, $1,100 a year more. So much for my "more safety features" theory.
One of the primary reasons new cars with all the safety features are NOT saving on insurance is the repair costs. https://jalopnik.com/this-kia-costs-34-000-to-repair-and-its-not-alone-1829136318. That link to that article reports that "the K900 comes with a ton of sensors and cameras all around its front and corners. That means even a minor “left front corner hit” could result in a jaw-dropping $34,000 repair bill. That’s compared to a current industry average of $8,000."
All those advanced features cost big bucks when there is even a small incident. No such thing as just a fender bender on the new cars.

WHOA!!! Shoot, that sucks! My hubs won't be liking that at all.

The G80 sport is classified under the High Performance tier by most insurance companies. I would assume it also applies to the G70 3.3T options also. An increase of $850 a year over my Sonata Limited. The 3.8L models was just under $400 annually. No tickets/violations over 4 years having good credit.

I think you are right about that. I have never had a ticket, great credit and last accident was over 30 years ago and it was the other driver's fault. Besides currently having a 10 yr old car, another factor is that I have been with this company for almost 4 years. Generally if you stick with an insurance company for more than 3 years you are paying too much. I have been waiting to get my next car before doing my insurance shopping.

Sometimes. I've been with the same company over like 8 years and I check every year or so and it's always the cheapest.

Hence the qualifier "Generally".

Lol true. Although I would think it would be the other way around, unless something big changed with your record.

No, not at all. Many consumer/financial/insurance "experts" suggest shopping every 1-3 years. It is not your record but rather that most insurance companies do not reward long term customers. I think maybe the exception could be USAA but don't remember for sure.

If you are with an independent agent rather than a captive one then they usually shop their customers every so often so that is being done for you.

Edit: You got me curious about mine so I compared when I first started with Amica (3/15) to what I'm currently paying. While my house and umbrella has gone up $185 my auto has actually decreased by $87. I guess that is not too bad.

Do not reward is an understatement. Some will dump you by raising the rates a lot. "Thank you for four accident free years, but the odds are you will have one soon, so goodbye."

A few years back I got my renewal bill and my agent called to tell me not to pay it. She got a new company at the old rate.

How much are ya paying? I have 100/300/50 1k/1k, 644 annual

Received a call from Genesis Henderson (Nevada) today. They have some options coming in soon that I have interest in but they told me if I purchased from them I would have to have it serviced by them since there are no exclusive Genesis dealers in Utah. Yes there are many Hyundai dealers in Utah that currently sell G80s and G90s but no "exclusive" Genesis dealer and I was told that only exclusive Genesis dealers are authorized to service Genesis cars and offer the concierge service etc. Very frustrating since I live 400 miles from Henderson and it would be not be realistic for me to be serviced by a dealer so far away.

Probably not a big deal in the long run. By the time it is ready for you to have service the dealers in Utah should be up and running. If not, you pay for an oil change at a place of your choice. Shouldn't be an impediment to getting the car. Go for it.

I’m the opposite regarding tires. Summer tires are pretty high on my priority list. I’ll purchase a set of winter tires/wheels (Chicago suburbs), and get the best performance all year round.

I was going to say. I’ll never run an all season again in the winter. I’m not even looking at an AWD G70😂

RWD+winters and LSD = good balance haha.

Which suburb are you out of? I’m in Algonquin/Crystal Lake area.

Funny thing for me is that I don't want AWD for the AWD but rather for the heated steering wheel. Otherwise I'm with you on this.

The heated wheel is nice, but climb a slippery snow covered hill and you'll like the AWD.
