Someone should at least mention that you must first take your phone out and plug it into the USB port. There is no wireless CarPlay. I wouldn’t say that is almost instantly.

It is phone dependent too. Very quick on my 8 Plus running 12.1.1

That I did know. I don't think they are too many cars out there that you can connect to CarPlay wirelessly yet.

Sound quality degrades over Bluetooth connections so I don’t mind plugging it in, though it does defeat the purpose of wireless charging, which I’ve turned off.

I think only a handful of BMWs have wireless CarPlay so it’s hardly a standard.

I know that BT audio streaming doesn't have the best audio fidelity, however saying that, I have exclusively used it in all my cars since 2012 and have to say that car audio systems are crap anyway compared to a good home system. So you're really not losing out on much when comparing BT to wired.

EPA requires the car start in the mode used for testing or a better one. It won't stay in Sport mode. Not sure but it may stay in ECO.

Woah...I will totally disagree with you here. I've been doing BT audio since I got it...and the sound is absolutely stunning. iPhone 8 Plus iOS 12.1.x

That's what I'm saying. Some people think wired is better. I find no difference. I use BT exclusively.

Saying that DTS Audio has a clear difference over CD and mp3.

Or in ECO if that was the last mode you were in.

Just cause you pay 50k+ for a car doesn't mean the audio system in it is phenomenal. It is good, but nowhere close to a good home system.
They don't always EQ them for the cabin, exterior road noise, loaded vs unloaded, and etc.
Pleasing sound doesn't mean good sound! Cloth seats need a different EQ curve vs leather seats and so on.
I don't buy cars for their audio system anyway but unfortunately in Canada, fully loaded cars come with the full audio system.

Agree with whatnyou just said. However BTA vs. A disk or wred is huge difference as long as the source is good. IE: lossless streaming rip will be way better direct than vs. BTA.

I think aftermarket car stereos can rival home if done well. Moving down the road there is too much noise for critical listening.

Custom is best but that costs more. The infotainment booklet shows the BT specs of the system. And I have to say, since we don't have a CD player anyway, it is hard to tell the difference.
I have 320kbps CBR audio on a stick and can't quite tell the difference between that and streaming what's on my phone. Satellite Radio maybe sounds a little worse but it is hard to tell.
I had the ELS system on my Acura and at its time was raved as the best. It was awesome with DVD-A DTS but the other options were less than impressive!

That's quite consistent, I'm not sure I've ever seen a wireless Carplay/AA. I tried Android Auto on my drives and it started pretty brisk, particularly in comparison to AA in my GTI.

Overall i love this car and do not regret making this decision at all when it comes to picking the G70 over the german cars i looked at.

My biggest issues so far are

Fuel economy on Sport Mode is really bad, i mean really bad but you should only drive in this mode when you are ready to rock and roll so fuel probably wont be a concern but compared to previous cars in sport modes this has sub par fuel economy. Even Comfort is not good on fuel but eco is pretty good so i either drive in Sport or Eco.

My only other con is that i am starting to see a bit of wear on the outside seat bolster for my left leg/hip on the driver side. I am about 230lbs so a little heavy lol but i should not see wear this early on the leather bolster.

I do have a couple small gripes that i included on my youtube vids but those are just normal little wishes i would have liked

Everyone that sees the car loves it and the performance in Sport Mode is insane, if you have not test driven yet you should do so, if you have any questions let me know

Just curious now that you've had the car for a little longer have you had anymore wear on the seats?
