  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The Beef's G70

See...I went the Vroom route since I initially thought I would be buying from NJ or GA...so I did not want to drive that distance and potentially be screwed by a lowball offer. Unload locally...then get them to ship the car or I fly to the dealer.

Since Alexandria became my purchase point...the trade worked for me as well. I could have pushed for more from them...but I just wanted the friggin car...LOL.

So could I have gained a grand or two?...perhaps. But...I'll never know...and I'm over it. Car is sooo worth it :)

Good luck !!

Quick comment on my photo above. The passenger seat has the thigh extension out...driver seat does not.

So it's not like in a BMW/Audi where a piece of the seat (closest to knee) slides in/out. The G70 rolls the extension from below and slowly extends it. So there is no separation of the seat...as you can see. Quite clever. Way better than BMW/Audi...where if you have it extended...it's an awesome crumb collector.

That's interesting because the G80 operates like your Audi where a separate seat piece slides in and out. I wonder why Genesis went with different ways to provide a seat extension on the G70 & G80.

I think we will see design cues from the G70 in the next generation of the G80 and G90. Those were originally designed under Hyundai so the G70 is actually the first car designed by a Genesis team.

I hear you - at some point, you just pull the trigger and don't care if you left something on the table. Congrats on your purchase.

I'm not sure on a 3.3 sport with all weather tires or summer tires. Do other have a view outside of just spending more for another set of tires

^ interesting that you and others have reported solid trade-in valuations by Genesis. they offered me $4500 more for my previous car than did Honda. and $3000-$3500 more than audi/bmw. they got so close to the after-tax target i had set that it made no sense for me to sell privately - which i have done on every other car i've owned.

Actually, the other way around.

The design for the G70 was frozen before they did the New York concept (which was my fave), much less the GV80 and Essentia concepts.

For the G70's facelift, expect to see similar changes to refreshed G90 and the all-new G80 (basically getting the Essentia treatment, even if not full-blown until the 2G G70).

As one notes, the G70 still has a hexagonal-shaped grille (albeit a different shape than the one Hyundai uses) along the lines of the G80 and pre-refresh G90, but w/ the new Essentia design language, Genesis gets a pentagonal-shaped grille (I guess to differentiate Genesis more from Hyundai).

Basically, should see changes along the lines of this (sketches made after seeing the facelifted G90 at a private showing).

Here's a rendering of the GV80 (which looks awful).

Yeah...c'mon man...don't ruin my thread !!! It's all about me...right? JK...but I do agree we shouldn't get too off topic. If I come here and post stuff...I don't want it to be lost :)

Hahahaha...funny question. I have no idea. If MPG = Majorly Pleased Guage...than it is through the roof.

All I know...is on Sat morning...I had a full tank. I buzzed around town for a couple of hours...and I was close to 1/2 full.

I will start to pay attention soon. But it guzzles when aggressive in Sport...and plus the smaller tank...needle seems to go down fast.

Not to sound too ignorant...but I really don't care. I work from home...and drive the car more for pleasure, errands and my daughter's sporting events. I filled up my A4 every 3 weeks maybe? There would be a stretch of a month and not seeing the pump. So whether it's 22 city...or 28...it's blind to me. Hope that makes sense.

But as the car wears in...I will report the average MPG the car reports.

Your car may never wear in if that how little you drive LOL!
My first week, I was struggling to get 9L/100km.
So far in my second week, the best I've been getting is 7.7L/100km.
my commute just to work and back is 700km a week.

So...that is 26.14 MPG and 30.55 MPG respectively. That is quite the difference from "wear in".

I would say that 29-30 MPG is a VERY respectable number...not driving like a goof.

I think it is 18 - 21 MPG.

Edit: Never Mind, I was doing it backwards.
