  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Winter wheel & tire packages?

I noticed a number of the sport have the 18' all weather. The dynamic sport has the PS4
Maybe in the US.
Canadian Sports are all 19" staggered as well as the 2.0T Prestige.
I believe the initial pre-production Prestige had Brembo brakes but was then dropped at least for Canada but they kept the staggered high performance summer tire setup.

For those still looking, try PMC Tire. Just for giggles I went online and built a package for a Stinger GT - no G70 in their configurator yet. They show the Switch in both titanium and black, and with Sottozero 3 tires, sensors and installed with nitrogen fill the cost was $2,400.50 tax in, delivered. Estimated delivery by November 21st in Toronto. No affiliation with the shop other than buying winter wheels for my Sonata. This was for the 18" package.

Yeah they are my go to for pricing. But the Switch 18" offset 35 is totally out of stock at the moment. They ended up being about $300 cheaper but I rather get it from Genesis with the 5 year warranty on the rims and original TPMS rather than aftermarket ones that occasionally fail!

So...curious...I know locations in Canada will store your wheels, etc.

But do you guys ever order from TireRack? There is no Canadian website for them...but they clearly deliver to Canada...and even have partnered installers up there.

With shipping and stuff, it gets expensive.
Most dealerships store tires. First year is free and then about $40 or so every year after. Or at least that is what it is at Kia. I think storage with Genesis is free.

^ yeah, i've used Tire Rack on occasion, but only when it made sense. with the exchange and shipping at the moment it doesn't really pay. 1010tires comes damn close, and with rebates can beat the TR pricing.

i've also driven across the line to WA in the past and done much better than CAD pricing. again, exchange plays a big part. a few years ago, Discount Tires in WA fitted a new set of AT tires on my wife's old SUV for 1/2 the price from the best quote up north. we paid $550 (in CAD) when the best local price was $1100.

it's always worth checking out for reference to see what TR can do on price, but whether or not they are the best option depends on a few factors.

Cannot wait to get my winter setup installed on Monday!
Almost crashed 4 times on my way back from work. These PS4 are so much worse than regular all season tires in the snow!

Left mine at home due to Winter Storm Avery (like we need to name winter storms). I had to move it up the icy / slushy driveway. Traction was poor. I made it, but traction control limited power throughout. I have Pirelli Sottozero 3’s on order from Tire Rack. Gambling a bit that the wheels and TPMS for a Stinger GT will work with the G70 without a hitch.

Should. When I looked for OEM TPMS on eBay, the part number was cross listed.

Pirelli Sottozero 3 and Enkei Performance Vulcan wheels from Tire Rack installed on my G70 by Quality Discount Tire (Kensington MD - great shop, by the way). Steering feel is very precise, they do follow the road surface more than the OEM Pilot Sport 4 tires. A little noisier, but more comfortable. I'm running the P225/45R18 tires. I think the Vulcan's are good looking wheels on the G70, more sport than the OEM 10-spoke.

First time posting images - I attached the photo files. If this is a problem, let me know and I'll post a link, etc.

Wow those are seriously bad ass!

Very different look from the OEM 10-spoke, which I like, but which give a luxury feel, not a "seriously bad ass" feel.

Mine on the G001. I've always been a sucker for star-style 5-spoke wheels. Running the X-Ice Xi3 - year after year I continue to adore this tire. Rides a little nicer than the factory PS4 (particularly since it had become a hockey puck the past month), but you definitely notice the huge drop in rear grip under hard acceleration.

Nice rims. Genesis makes it hard for people to choose which rims they buy as there are so many good choices.

No kidding on the ride quality. Love how the X-Ice drives over the PS4. All of a sudden I felt like I was driving a comfortable SUV! Do you notice that it oversteers more now?
Btw when the Switch was sold out, my Parts Manager sent me a screenshot of all other available Fast rims I could order instead for the same price. There was a Fast FC07 in Titanium black that looks similar to this G001 which I was going for until he got back to me to say someone cancelled the G003 and if I wanted those instead for the same price!

Yes, definitely more oversteer - there's simply nowhere near the same level of grip at the axle receiving most of the power. On cold/wet pavement under full throttle, you can feel the car wiggle its hips a bit even in a straight line. Makes me chuckle.

Yeah I kind of like the feeling. Plus the fact that we have 8" width, wonder how much difference the driving dynamics would be with a square 235 or 245 setup!
There's a Tyre Review video on YouTube that compared staggered and square winter setup on a BMW and the conclusion was that a slight upsized square setup was the best!

Anyone using aftermarket TPMS sensors to work with their G70 ? If so, can you share which brand you use and how ur shop sets up/program it ? My tire shop unable to get their aftermarket TPMS to be recognized by my car....
