If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Hello everyone,

On 18 Aug. 2009 I ordered the Genesis wing badges for the hood, trunk lid and streering wheel on eBay Motors at an overall cost of $47.61 Canadian.

This amount covered the cost of the three badges, the American money exchange, our two taxes and the shipping & handling to my residence in Canada.

I received the three badges on 26 Aug. 2009 by regular mail from the USA.

On 27 Aug. 2009, I had the badges installed at a local body shop. It took about 15 minutes to get the three badges installed and it cost me $10.00.

The small Genesis wing steering badge was installed in seconds on top of the small Hyundai H.
It was not necessary to remove this H or to use the extra two-way tape that was provided in case that it was needed.

The two plastic pins on the large Genesis wing hood badge were removed with a small pair of cutting pliers, smoothed and two small pieces of tape placed over those areas to cover them.

The badge was centered & aligned on the hood and installed with the two way tape on the badge.

The large Hyundai H badge on the trunk lid was removed by the person at the garage with a thin plastic type of tool similar to a knife within a minute or so.

He cleaned the area and the two pins on the trunk lid badge fitted exactly in the two holes where the H badge was located.
No need to cut those two pins.

The badge was then installed on the trunk lid with the two-way tape on the badge.

I must say that the car looks much better with these Genesis badges.

I will attach a few before and after photos so that you can see the difference.

Yes, it does look much better with the winged badges.

I love that color!

Moving this to the Genesis Sedan Appearance Modifications forum. Monandy! The car looks great!

Nice pic's but BOLD font is unnecessary, we can all read fine with regular font.

And yes the winged badges Do look way better, thats why allot of Genny owners are rebadging. I think this is the way the car should have come.

I do like the rear badge, but I don't think I'd go for a hood emblem. I just can't shake loose the idea that it looks a bit unnatural to me.

How does the steering wheel emblem look from the side, looking at it edge-on? Being surface applied, does it project too much?

And yup, I like the color of your car.

Info Needed

Hi! Where can I purchase the metal wing emblems for the front and rear? I've been searching eBay, but they are all plastic with chrome overlay. There was one steel set for 95.00 for the coupe, would that work? Thanks, I've only had my car 5 days, newbie here!

The genuine Hyundai-Mobis emblems from Korea are plastic. I think pretty much everyone here who's rebadged has used those.

It doesn't project out as much as you might fear. I haven't had a single passenger, including snobs and gearheads, who have said anything but positives about the steering wheel emblem.

Obviously, the KDM emblem is much nicer and is recessed in the airbag cover. But I don't think 99.99% of the population would know or notice the difference. You (as the owner) will probably be the only one who would give it a second thought.

I was recently at an event with other Genesis owners, and one of the cars that everyone was looking at had that aftermarket badge, and everyone was like "where do you get one of those?"

That said, while it is good enough, there's no comparison between the badge and replacing the airbag unit with one from Korea in terms of aesthetics.

Very nice, Monandy. As I've said before, the Cabernet is a beautiful color. But my wife wouldn't let me get a burgundy car.

Have you thought about getting the winged wheel caps to complete the look?

Looks great!

I rebadged my Genesis about a week after I bought it here in Vancouver.

This is definitely the way the car should have been from the factory.

How did you remove the original Hyundai logo from the steering wheel ?

He didn't. The new logo is designed to go right over the old one (which is embedded in the airbag assembly). Some people have tried to remove the old one, but it is not recommended and not easy to do, and not necessary for the badge in question. If you try and remove it, you may cause some cosmetic damage that you will regret.

If you get the new steering wheel badge (which is not a genuine Hyundai part, unlike all the other badge replacements which are from the Korean version of the Genesis) the extra tape supplied is optional, and not required or desirable in most installations (the double stick tape attached to the emblem is sufficient).

Photos attached...It's hard to get good photos edge-on though.

Excellent photos, that looks a lot nicer than I'd thought it would look.

Hi Dataguy,

Yes, it is difficult to get a good side view of the steering badge but the photos that you have provided give a pretty good idea.

Take care,
