  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

Your math is fuzzy...over 2 months. I got mine on November 2nd and you got yours within a week!
Opps...off by a month.

I’m at 1,100 miles now. Working at home...I literally go on joy rides every day!!!! So I truly use it for pleasure.

Other than that...office once in a blue moon...Costco/grocery...and my daughter to her various activities :)

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Mine is 5 days old and it has 224 miles on it. I work at home too but this car is so nice to drive that I find myself looking at any opportunity to get on it.

I’m partial to the green but I just love everything from BRG to dark forest green.

Mallorca is a great color but I prefer the Ibiza blue from the 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan. Man I wanted that car badly in the 5.0 V8 + RWD but it was just such a porker. Imagine a G70 in Ibiza Blue, RWD, and a N/A 5.0 V8; now that would be sexy.

Here's my previous Genesis. I agree, Ibiza Blue is absolutely gorgeous.

It's lighter and more metallic. MB is a great blue too.

Tulsa is now showing inventory on cargurus.com, looks like all 2.0s so far.

TurtleGuy,
Everyone on this forum & thread owes you a tremendous debt of gratitude for continuing to produce facts, not hearsay. Thank you, thank you.

We all have our own set of facts & circumstances, but your posts can be applied to almost, if not all, of us.

Again, thank you,

I think Genesis should give a percent off to both TurtleGuy and Beefer--they have each facilitated quite a few sales and provided terrific information.

Absolutely gorgeous! I wish I could have that in the 5.0 less 600 lbs like the g70. I’d even learn to live with the ivory interior. Would prefer the black and grey patterned though.

Ibiza, estoril (bmw), and caesium (jag) are IMO the 3 best shade of blue on a car you can find today.

Mallorca Blue is pretty damn good, though. Have you had a chance to see it in person yet? It's tempting for me, even though I normally couldn't care less about blue cars.

I’m at 625 miles and I’ve had it since 12/1. I also work from home and really just drive my daughter to daycare which is a 5 min ride but I do go on daily joyrides too especially when it’s nice out.

I drive 700km a week just for work. Extra when I need to go fill up!

I suspect this will go up when it’s spring and summer very much. Since it’s crappy Boston weather now.

I would add: Audi Sepang Blue Pearl + VW Lapiz Blue [Golf R].

Curious to hear opinions.

Isn't Genesis in a bit of a jam? This is obviously their moment for fantastic publicity for the G70. Award after award after award...

But the car is basically not available!

It always seems to me the best advertising for any car is seeing it on the street. I live in Los Angeles, where many people are car rich and house poor. The visibility of a car on street has to be the single most important form of advertising here.

So my thought is, isn't the company under tremendous pressure to offer huge discounts to get this thing out on the street so people can see it and start buying? I'm hoping, of course, to benefit from the pressure, if it exists.

No, actually we have been seeing little to no discounts other than incentives (conquest, loyalty, lease cash, etc.). Where it is available (30 states currently with more close) it seems to be selling.

It might be a great time to buy a 2018--several sites I see now listing their recently received (or to be received) G70s have some 2018s remaining in stock (G80 and G90s)

Isn't the outlook here that Genesis two or three months out is going to have sold a couple hundred of these cars, with a lot of them sitting on lots as the 2020 model year approaches?

Or will there simply be very few of them sold this year? Which means Genesis will be stuck marketing the car at the end of this year as "last year's car of the year". (Yes, of course, they won't be literally saying that; they'll be trying to conceal it, I know. My point is it will be a business problem. I think.)

I'm not privy to what their sales forecasts or production numbers were. It could be they anticipated the dealer rollout taking so long or at least reacted to it and halted production due to not having the dealer base to sell them, so the year end inventory will not be great.

I would imagine that two or three months out the sales numbers would be over a thousand. Even though the dealer network was quite limited they sold 409 of them in 2018. Besides other smaller states coming online, we now have Florida selling and Texas soon.
