  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Car has to be sold as per sticker. Sure they could have put different rims with winter tires...but they need to include the original tires and rims.

You got it. As you can see under the Sport package, it says summer tires.
Okay -- got it. What he circled and sent to me was on the left side -- under PowerTrain technology, which listed the 18 inch all weather Michelin. I specifically asked, however, if it came with all Summer tires and was told no--and he circled and sent to me the 18 inch all weather portion.
I'll have to "break" the news to him. Thank you both! :)

Not unusual from what others have experienced. The sales people know very little about the actual Genesis models/trims unfortunately. Hopefully that changes as the brand matures.

Yes--thus far I have been more on the "explaining side"--and, frankly (as per above discussion), I am not even close to being one of the more knowledgeable about the car. Each of the people I have thus far interacted with has been pleasant--but they are definitely learning a new area. And, with the slow delivery of the cars, can't blame them too much--many are still awaiting their first shipment.

You should ask where the original equipment is. Also ask if the price is lowered since the original rims/tires are WAAAAY more expensive. Sounds like a scam.

Possibly--though I think he just did not know. This is not a car he had on his lot, he was sending as an example in answer to my question about the tires on the 3.3 Sport--I had asked if all tires were 19 inch staggered Summer, and he replied no, that they have all weather tires, etc.
I really like the wheels on the Sport, but hate the idea of Summer tires, so it may be enough to make me change what I'm doing. (And, I was obviously asking a stupid question; I really was just trying to confirm what I had read--but the response I receives surprised me.)

I would bet that he says the car has the 18" Michelin All Season Tires because is on the Standard features of the Monroney sticker but the car has the Sport package with the 19" Sport wheels added on the right side of the sticker and he didn't see it.

As OP and after having my G70 3.3T Prestige for a week this is the list of thing I don't like of the G70, they are just a few compared with all the great things this car has.
1- Incandescent backup and rear turn lights (already bought the bulbs and will be installing them hopefully toda)
2- Closing the trunk is very uncomfortable and hard to do it. An automatic system is need it, I read that the 2020 will have it.
3- I really would like to have a compass on the rearview mirror like the one that I had in my 2016 Hyundai Genesis, the G80 and G90 have them so it wouldn't be too costly for Genesis to add it to our G70s.
4- Nothing else..... this car is awesome, I love how it looks, the engine has plenty of power with awesome driving handling, interior finish is excellent and luxurious with all buttons easy to reach and very well positioned, exterior look is beautiful and athletic without loosing it's luxury roots. In the end I could say that this car is very well crafted work of art at an incredible value for the money.

You do have a compass...it’s in the dash display.

Are you in the U.S.? I thought "smart trunk" came with all trim levels or is the electric close a separate feature from S.T.?

He’s talking auto close. Lift some weights...closing a trunk is pretty easy.

I know but I have to have that screen opened in the dash, if you have another then you have to look for it, that takes time.

I understand the compass complaint to some degree. But... you're really using the compass that often AND you aren't aware of the position of the sun? Personally have never used it in previous cars.

On the topic of rear mirror, this is the cheapest piece on the interior. I wish Genesis would make a more bezelless rear mirror. But this is a very minor quibble.

Not a big complain but owning a previous Genesis car that had that feature , I wonder why they didn't put it on the G70

I agree with you on that. I would love to have the auto trunk close button. I had a G80 for two weeks and really got used to having that feature. That was one of my initial criticism's regardless of how minor it is.

I don't consider it a complaint though. I prefer criticism. To me a complaint would be my car breaking down every other month. After all the whole point of this thread is to point out things you don't like or wish you had. We all know there is no perfect car. The G70 checks off so many boxes and that is the reason why all of us bought one; however, if Genesis called me up and said are there any little things you'd change I'd say add a trunk button, rear door handle lock buttons and the option to turn on heated seats via the app.

Just spent time back reading this thread. As a prospective owner, thanks for the insights. Ive test driven the 2.0 and the 3.3 this week (base lines for both), neither felt as smooth as i would have liked.....seemed like a little jerkiness at times....when its upshifting or downshifting/decelerating may be what i'm noticing. When I test drove a g80 i did not notice any jerkiness.

Outside of this issue i'd really like to get the G70 but this may be a deal breaker for me. any insights? is this simply how the ride is intended to feel in the G70.....when its downshifting/decelerating for example?
