  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

That would make sense then since you are limiting the search to a handful of dealers and a specific model. Nationwide the inventory is constantly changing but with your limiting search criteria I can see how the results would be fairly stagnant.
Might depend on the region too. I test drove a 2.0 & a 3.3 AWD at my local dealer the end of last year and just noticed they still have them on their lot, plus a Design Edition that was residing in the showroom. Not much activity there....

Could be, I was referring to the original post in regards to the inventory on cars.com not changing which is not true. Every day it is different due to a combination of sales and new inventory. When looking at a specific dealer or region it may not reflect the activity nationwide. Last month they sold 229 G70s so that worked out to about 2 per dealer. Given some do more volume it would mean some aren't selling any at all.

Was told May for California by Puente Hills.

Just 2 cars sold per dealer in December sounds weak. Are dealers in states that have had G70s for a while any more flexible on price?

Sep/Dec/Jan/Mar/May. Keeps going and going and going.
Seems like CA may just have to skip 2019 in favor of 2020. If they're predicting May at this point, there's every reason it could be delayed further. Even if we do get some 2019's, they likely will have been sitting in storage for a year before sale. Might be a great opportunity for a substantial discount at that time with 2020 on its heels!

Thanks for the reply. Good question. I don't have a cars.com account, so I go to the website and redo the search criteria every time I do it. (For me, that's G70, 2.0 TT, list by distance) I should specify that I don't look at any cars beyond 400 miles or so from me. Since I'm actually interested buying one, as a practical matter I can only devote a day to getting the car. I could fly to Vegas or Arizona and drive back the same day. So I'm only looking at the first 10 cars or so. After that, the listings are for Louisiana and Illinois, which doesn't interest me. So, yes, the same 5 or 6 cars have been at the top of my search for the past two weeks or so, at dealers in Nevada and Arizona. Maybe dealers in other states show changing inventory but I wouldn't see that.

Between Cars.com, Car Gurus, Auto Trader and individual Geneisis or Hyundai websites, there are so many differences in listed inventory. The site do give some idea of the general size of a certain dealer’s inventory, and if you are fortunate and actual photo, or best of all, the window sticker. Ultimately, we all gotta drag ourselves down there to dealer and see what’s actually in the showroom and in their lot (and remote lots, also!)

Just be a little more patient. Inventory will be increased with time. Just to have an idea, Florida has no cars on January first, but today in less than a month I can see they have 178 cars in stock in 10 different dealers at 65 miles radius from my house. It took many months for Florida to have cars but as soon as the State got the license, Genesis fulfilled the dealer's inventory very fast.

it was love at first sight... I had to bring her on home! and the 2.5hr drive back home from OKC was a blast!!. wow wow wow
I'd say this, Mallorca looks sooooo good in all the pics and I was set on that color.
BUT in person?!? Siberian Ice is completely 'MindBottling'!!!
It was a cloudy day, but took her on a second test drive just to find some sun to see the difference. It was a wrap at that point.

Edmond received 4 G70's Friday... coincidentally, me and another guy from here in TX was there together and snatched up 2 of them yesterday.

thanks again to @Beefer and @TurtleBoy for all your insight you give in this forum.
Now it's time to have some fun!

Very nice. So you choose the Siberian Ice then? Was this taken in the sun or shade?

Here’s all the cars typically filling up the lots at Port Hueneme north of Los Angeles. There must be quite a few Genesis in there ready to be released into California.

I’ll be hopeful that my G70 is in there somewhere. 😊

Can you tell me the build date on the door jam sticker? I'm wondering if they've gone through the initial shipment or not.

Totally agree on both.
I should have clarified my point about handling better. I meant to say that I do NOT want tight, responsive steering while cruising down the highway at 70-80 miles per hour in COMFORT mode. I want a luxurious, smooth ride. I want to put some classical music on while I sit back and relax for a long road trip on a nice wide open freeway and not have to worry about having to make constant adjustments to the steering as in now the case in COMFORT mode. I expect it and DESIRE it in sport mode but not comfort mode. In sport mode I do NOT want to sit back and relax--I want to sit up, senses heightened and crank up some rock music!

You mentioned earlier that you were disappointed in the sound system. Curious to hear if you have any thoughts on the system for classical music vs. rock (or other types, jazz etc...) ? Or do you find it "ok" but not great for all kinds of music?

I think the sound system is phenomenal. I’ve played around with it a lot. Metal, jazz, techno, classical. Love it.
