Excellent suggestion, Beef! Tapping the nuts was just what the doctor ordered! After that it was easy-peasy, and at least in the daylight the LEDs look super sharp.

It does! It's noticeably brighter even in the middle of the day.

Actually didn't see any. I saw the other post where the guy showed some chipped paint under the housings, but I made sure to check that exact spot and all my paint looked fine.

Yup, four on each side, though one is hiding up and back.

I have to say, though, now that I've had a chance to look at them at night, I'm definitely worried it's too bright, because looking at my hazards for a few seconds was pretty blinding.

Is there any way to tone it down? Tint or cover the projector on the LED maybe?

Don't touch the LED. Tint them. Or at least tint that strip.

I meant tint the glass projector on the front of the bulb. I know LED's don't generate much heat relatively speaking, but I don't want to create a melting/burning hazard.

Take a second look at them tomorrow during the daytime and see what you think. I know the change seems pretty drastic at first, but they're really not that invasive once you're not staring at them in the dark up close.

Oh they look awesome during the day, I just don't want to be "that guy" blinding someone who's sitting behind me waiting to make a turn at night. Driving a miata for several years in front of stupid trucks with cheap ebay HID's in halogen housings has made me very sensitive to inconsiderate lighting situations.

Understandable. Perhaps ask a friend or family member's opinion? Maybe even have them drive behind you at night and see if they notice it being too bright? It's too bad all of us on the forum are so spread out in the country, it would be nice to have a meet with everyone and we could compare things like this to see if something is too bright.

Lol, I was just talking with fiancee about it and she's like "one night I'll drive behind you and let you know if it's too bright." I was thinking maybe adding a strip of tint like SuperSam did in the "tinting taillights" thread. It would probably dim it down some and the smokey look would be pretty cool.

A meetup would be cool. I've seen all of two G70's on the street in the Queens/Long Island area.

Dont worry about it. They arent really in anyone's direct line of sight unless they're driving a really low car. Mine dont seem too bright to me at night. They dont look any brighter than LED brake lights.

Everyone road trip to LA, drive in together to a Genesis (aka Hyundai) dealer, and just sit there having coffee watching people look for parking so they can car shop.

FWIW @sethsquire , I think tinting the taillight a bit would probably be the best solution. Looks better (imo) and it would tone the LEDs down just enough to not blind people. That's what I'm planning on doing soon enough

Yeah I was thinking of doing just the reflector strip for the signal a la the guy at the bottom of the first page in this thread ( Tinting taillights ). The challenge for me will be cutting it and making it so it doesn't look like hot garbage.

Which dash cams did you get, if you don't mind me asking? And how did you wire them? Pics would be great if it's not too much trouble.

I have a front dash cam in my Ford Explorer and want to install a pair in the G70.
