G70 Lease Comparisons and Discussion (USA)

I’m not matching their number either. I came up with 559 if you pay all taxes/fees up front.

That still seems high to me, but like I said my math brain may be failing me this morning.

Fulton, but it shouldn't matter (I don't think) since TAVT is published by the state. I don't believe there are separate county taxes.

Would you mind sharing your numbers (or PM'ing them to me)?

Understood, was asking location to determine if you were close enough to see the sales guy I worked with at Ed Voyles Genesis.

I can PM numbers but it will be later today. Take a look at their inventory and let me know if they have what you’re looking for.

I got them to beat Circle A, without me actually having the certificate in hand. Took some negotiating, but overall very pleased at how they handled everything.

No worries. I just saw your other post in the Purchase Price thread that had some of your numbers. I think that's about all I need actually. Your adjusted price is $3,500 less than mine, down payment will be similar. Roughly that should be $100 more if everything else was the same.

Edited to correct info.

Yea, your MSRP is about $1,700 higher and they are charging you $1,115 for the dealer extras that were thrown in for me.

If you go to Ed Voyles, talk with Reid.

That still seems high to me, but like I said my math brain may be failing me this morning.

Here are my calculations for the 559 a month. It doesn't match their tax amount though since the payment is lower.

leasehackr.com/calculator?make=Genesis&miles=12000&msd=0&msrp=50840&sales_price=47817&months=36&mf=.00049&dp=0&dealer_fee=599&acq_fee=750&taxed_inc=3000&untaxed_inc=0&rebate=0&resP=51&reg_fee=47&sales_tax=6.75&demo_mileage=0&memo=&acqFee_check=true&totalLeaseTax_radio=true

The MF they are quoting you is quite a bit higher than others are getting. If you get the base MF then your payments will probably be around $530 or so.

Update: Genesis CS said to contact Finance on Saturday.

Called them when the reopened today, they said none of that (i.e. money factor) is up to them, and CS would be the best place to ask.

So, looks like I'm SOL as getting that from an "official" source. I can try emailing the guy that helped me get more information on the Spectrum program (they contacted someone in the Incentives department) and see if I can just get them stating the MF is what it is and send it to that dealership.

Seems like half these places don't really want to get rid of the same stock they've had since their franchise agreements went through.

Can someone look at these numbers and tell me if I am crazy? I ran them at leasehacker and the only way I get the monthly payment of $576 is without plugging in the $3,000 lease cash: leasehackr.com/calculator?make=none&miles=12000&msd=0&msrp=50840&sales_price=47817.65&months=36&mf=.00049&dp=3118&dealer_fee=599&acq_fee=750&taxed_inc=0&untaxed_inc=0&rebate=0&resP=51&reg_fee=47&sales_tax=6.75&demo_mileage=0&memo=&totalLeaseTax_radio=true

It could be that my math brain isn't working this morning, but I just can't wrap my head around where the numbers comes from. Note that if I take out the down payment from the leasehacker calculator, or use $1,500 DP, I get the other numbers presented by the dealer ($667/month with no DP and $623/month with $1,500 DP).

Notwithstanding the MF, accessories, and doc fee, it seems like the monthly payment should be a lot lower if the lease cash is properly accounted for. Once I wrap my head around the calculation, I can deal with the fees and such.

MSRP$50,840.00
Discount (Circle A)$4,137.35
Rebate$3,000.00
Adjusted Price$43,702.65
Accessories$1,115.00
Total Purchase$44,817.65
Acquisition$750.00
Doc Fee$599.00
GA TAVT$1,722.00
Gov't Fees$47.00
Residual (51%)$25,928.40
MF.00049
Monthly payment with $3,118 down (paying fees and taxes upfront)$576

Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks.

So leasehackr automatically calculates you paying fees up front. So if you look at the numbers on the right hand side in yours, it's adding your 3118 to the roughly 3k of fees it already had you paying in drive off. So to achieve that number you have to put 6k down, not 3118.

I'm getting the same numbers they are. I've attached how I did it below. I always put the A pricing in as an untaxed incentive just to make things easier. As you can see, the drive off is $3,118 in this scenario which is what you'd be paying. You basically were adding an extra 3k in which is why it seemed like the 3k lease cash wasn't being added in. Hope this helps.

In the numbers from his dealer the 3,118 was not including the first month's payment just the fees and taxes (750 + 599 + 1,722 + 47). You also put a 193 downpayment which would not be applicable as far as I can tell.

I added 193 in order to get exactly 3118 because lease hackr had only 2900 something. They calculate the tax incorrectly. You're right about the one month's payment but that didn't include the acquisition up front. So I just redid it and that puts it at 559 per month, however, you cannot calculate without first month's payment on lease hackr without clicking zero drive off. So the down payment in this situation is 3677. 3118 + 559 (first month payment). If you divide that 559 by 36(amount of payments) you get 15.53. Add that to the monthly payment of 559 and you get 574.53 or right at 575. The numbers still seem to be correct. My corrected numbers are attached. Note, I had to edit the tax percentage a little to get the tax to add up to what they have it at, 1722.

Was at Dallas Genesis at lunch looking at a SS sport 3.3 in person. Still waiting on 2020 models but wanted to see the SS color and as the salesman took some contact info from me we briefly talked lease vs buy (cash). He mentioned a 30 day ballon option so depending on what may (or may not) be available for 2020 models I could get lease cash for best all around pricing but then pay off the lease in 30 days. Hopefully I’m describing this correct. Anyone heard of a 30 day ballon payment option?

It’s a lease. Nothing special about 30 days. Pay it off a time you want you still get the lease cash. 2019 2020 or whatever model year.

Genesis does offer a balloon financing option with an incentive attached to it. I think @SeekingGen posted about it awhile ago. Was he maybe referring to that rather than a lease?

Wonder what the incentive to pay it off is? And why would they do this? Interest too low?

Looks like it was $1,000 at that time. Not sure wha their reasoning is, could be because it is a higher interest rate and figure some folks won't pay it off early and will wait until the balloon is due in x years.

"I bought mine and had not planned to finance, but Genesis has a "balloon finance" available that if you use it they deduct $1,000 of MSRP; you can then repay the loan as early as you want without having to accumulate and pay the interest--I don't recall exactly what the interest is, but if you pay get the payoff amount and pay in full, it may be worth looking at. (Assuming the lease deal gives you $3,000 off but then you have a $750 fee + additional taxes.) Just a possibility to consider."

Caveat: Lease cash for a 2020 model is likely to be much less than what we currently see for 2019 models. I'm in the same boat as you and waiting for 2020 info before deciding; gonna be a game-time decision!

Could be, yes. We had been talking about sales taxes with a lease and at time of buy-out are the remaining taxes only on residual amount or something different? Also fees with a re-tittle from the finance company name to my name. Salesman said with this balloon payment method, the car would be titled in my name from the beginning so no re-tittle or those fees would be needed. Seems interesting and something to at least explore when the time comes. I get when 2020’s get here the incentives will be less or even non-existent for a while. The price of admission for a 2020 basically. I also liked the fact that Dallas Genesis does not attach the front license plate mount unless requested. None of their vehicles had them attached vs the other two dealers I had been at a few months ago had every vehicle already outfitted with front plate mounts. They honor all the Genesis personal services and such, as they should and said they accept circle A. I appreciate the responses and continue to learn about leasing and being better informed by those here who are much smarter on the process than I am.

Yet another dealer woe. This time at the hand of their Incentives Rep.

Said that dealer cash can stack with the Circle A price, yet the lease cash won't.
Salesperson was very nice and understood when I said it even says it on the paper and the FAQ, but the rep told their GM and finance manager that it didn't.

So I've gotta get Circle A to contact them. Ugh.

They have a person whose sole job is to handle incentives (who has that?) and that person didn’t know how this works? I find that hard to believe. They are just giving you a hard time

Actually this one I believe. The salesperson was even kind enough to point to another dealer that is high volume and would have more dealer cash to work with, and could probably do better on a trade due to them owning multiple used car lots. Even let me know if a similar vehicle and what it went for at an auction.

Even said to have the circle people call them or the dealer directly to notify them as they believes I'm correct as well.

So the dealer may be doing some BS but at least the salesperson is straightforward.
